Hand held hydraulic breaker...

I'm wondering if anyone has connected the back ports to a handheld hydraulic breaker and used the tractor's pump to power the breaker? I know Kubota had this option on the UTV's. They offered a Stanley brand breaker complete with 15 ft. hoses.

I'm looking at trying this with an L series... Anybody that might have any info. i'd really appreciate it.

Would need to know what GPM the unit needs to run. ;)

No, a jackhammer (air or hydraulic powered breaker) isn't the same as a jumping jack. Jumping jacks are for compacting dirt, jackhammers are for breaking concrete.

Right, tamper and jackhammer, two different tools. So is the "hydraulic breaker" still a jackhammer?

You will be marginal in terms of hydraulic output.
Tractor spec's say 19.5 lpm
Stanley requires 20 to 30 lpm

I'm 29.4 l/min. On the main pump & 17.9 l/min. on the power steering... It's an L3901, am I missing something?

Also, Here's the one I was referring to on Ebay. The label says 15-23 l/min. So I'm assuming mine is well within range.


Once upon a time, I welded an attachment to the backhoe on BX for an electric breaker...grrrr! I can't embed pictures in a post using an Ipad, but here's a link to it.

I'm sorry but you have the wrong specs for the tractor, its:
Main: 6.3 GPM (23.9 l/m)
Steering: 3.8GPM (14.5 l/m)
Looks like you were looking at the specs for the l4701. :eek:

But yes, based on the right #'s for your tractors output your still in range of tools demand for flow:
Tool: 4-6 GPM (15-23 l/m)

But the tractor hydraulic pressure is higher than what the tool wants:
Tool: 83-140 Bar (1000-2000 PSI)
Tractor: 165 Bar (2350 PSI)
While a 350 PSI overage does not sound like much, it's enough to cause the tool to either internally or externally fail!
Internal failure = Tool no longer works :(
External failure = You no longer work! :eek::mad:

Oooooo Damn!! You're right, I was looking at the the L4701!!!

I've had it with this orange piece of $*@!, :mad: Kubota needs to reconsider how they market this finely honed piece of *%#$ of a tractor & advertise it as the only tractor in the world in dire need of Viagra! It's fat & bloated but limp as a noodle with a backhoe that couldn't scrape gum off a desk!

:mad:Monday, I'm trading in that piece of *+#!?. I've been wanting to trade up to a MX4800 ever since they unloaded them at the dealership. The longer I wait the more it'll cost me.

Thanks for letting me know, I would have kept on with those numbers in my head until who knows when?

Sorry guys.... I really lost my cool this weekend. I'm still fuming mad but at least have composure.

Wolfman, I can't thank you enough for help me out and yeah the pump really won't develop the power needed to operate the breaker. It may look like on paper but you have to consider losses along a circuit that could be 30 feet or more.

Before the breaker, I had looked at a cement mixer which was too heavy for my 3 point to lift. Finally, the HST is Soooo loud it's deafening, on my BX25, I filled the ROPS with landscaping foam (GreatStuff) which made it more quiet. I tried that with L3901 but it didn't help this time.

I'd say my expectations were misaligned but it still doesn't help my L3901 handle the implements. I blame myself for this and am still a Kubota fanatic, nothing wrong with them or the L3901, it's just not for me. So today I went to Kubota and talked to them. They're working the numbers on trading-in the L3901 for a MX4800 GST, so we will see tomorrow.
