5 year marks would probably give a better average. With me being 40 it puts me on the edge of both age groups

Guess again! I can think of at least 3 OTT members who have mentioned their ages in passing who are well over 70, and not only can use a computer but are still driving and fixing their tractors.
Now over 90 seems to be another matter. Depends on whether or not they got started using them when they were in their 70's. Tried to get my half brother and his wife going on a tablet so they could do email, but it was a failed effort. (94 and 88 respectively)

I will be 69 in couple of months. Been on computers since 1966 and still manage to ride both motorcycles, keep out pack of dogs in line and avoid drooling in my porridge most of the time.

My tastes (and my budget...) lean towards rebuilt bikes from the 70's. My main ride right now is a 1979 Yamaha XS650, and I'm a month or so away from putting a 1974 Suzuki GT550 on the road. Just waiting on warm weather to finish painting.
I'm 67 and I play shinny (hockey) every weekday morning for an hour still ride my snowmobiles and quads with the grandkids and fix all my toys. I've been using a computer since the late eighties and still am no damn good at it.

I guess that I am the youngster here at 61 years old. I made a career in computers and computerized equipment. I ride my HD Road King daily for anything that I can do without the truck. There is not too much that I cannot do that involves mechanics or computers. Consequently, I do 90% of my own repairs.
Hold on now. I am 70 and started working with a Univac 1050-II for work and a Timex T100 for home use back in 1966. This is back when a Disk Operating System (DOS) was only on mainframe computers and we were considered artist. I still support some of my better customers with their company computers today.
Phpaul, now I have 2007 R1200RT and 2015 Yammie FJ-09. Have been riding since 1959 and love them all. I too enjoy the older bikes but with retirement in 11 days I have lightened the load in the garage over past couple of years and that is what is left for keepers. Always looking though. Good to see a few of us with some patina around. .

Yes, 360 was a good one and stayed around for a long time. If you knew JCL you could do wonders.
I'm not that old (55 1/2), but I have use IBM 360/30 (both 16K and 32K) & 40, IBM 370/158. Did a lot of JCL in my time and programming. One of our 360/30 had the 1401 ROS so we could run 1401 programs on it after you loaded the CID cards. If I had a penny for every punch card I ran through the 2540's we had and the unit record equipment I would have move money than I would know what to do with.
We ran VM/370 on the 158, had 8M of memory. We also ran VMagic, could make any kind of disk drive look like any other kind. Take a group of 2314's and make them look like a 3330, or that the 3330 and make it look like a group of 2114's.
When my Dad was in the Army and stationed in France, they had a IBM 650 Magnetic Drum Data Processing Machine. When he PCS'ed to the states, they gave him the console to the 650. Mounted it in a wooden frame and rigged it up so the lamps would come on when it is plugged in. I have it he in my "computer room".

I don't remember the name of the computer I first ran into, it was a lab computer for analyzing complex data sets rather than an institutional computer. The size of a refrigerator. What I do remember is that to start it up you had to toggle in part of the operating system in hexadecimal, and other instructions were on paper tapes. I decided it was faster to analyze my data the old fashioned way, while my ex spent hours, days, and weeks debugging his programs.....We were students then, and the U thought computers were the way of the future and so Fortran was included as part of a P Chem course. It was fun, and who knew how important it would be!

I see a third of us so far are in the 60 year old group. I wonder how many of us in that group have a BX for our first tractor. We got old enough to need a powered wheel barrow to accomplish what we used to do with a rake, shovel, and manual wheel barrow.
