When I purchased the tractor it was without the hood side pans.
I didn't like the engine compartment being exposed. I was scrapping an old gas furnace that had some decent sheet metal.
Not having a metal break. I used the ramps from my car trailer clamped together, With a 2x4 and a hammer I bent the metal into shape.

Nice work with some pretty basic tools! I know that sheetmetal is not cheap so anything you can do yourself is a big savings!

That looks very good,
I would not know they were not factory without seeing the original ones.

Looks great. Thats some mad skills.

One thing, i hope you arent working under the loader without support. Piece of angle iron tie wrapped to either cylinder is cheap insurance.

Thanks for the kind words.
A quote I've used is.
"Need something? just ask and I'll tell ya how to get along without it."
I just put the bucket up for good photos.
The wife didn't think it was funny me working on the pickup exhaust, while it was be held up by the backhoe.

Nice work.

I went to junk yard a few years ago and the owner had the back of a truck lifted up with a chain around the loader bucket of some china made tractor. He was way under the truck cutting something with a torch. I couldn't watch. I got what I needed and left. SO many things that could fail and if one failed it would have been real bad. More then likely it wasn't the first time or the last time he worked like that. I just didn't want to be around if it went wrong.

Artful work there......a fine testament to patience, forethought and execution!

As long as the wheels still on truck and you arent laying under a wheel, you would be fine. Maybe get a little squish, but not like it would park the entire truck on you.

A friends older brother died under his vehicle when bumper jack kicked out.
An older gentleman i sold parts to got crushed when dump box fell.
A good friend lost his life when a trailer fell off its blocking.
I have a genuine concern when it comes to alternative safety practices.
A couple minutes to play safe versus a one second slip of something heavy.

Cant wait to see it painted.

Wow, I thought you used a brake until I read your post. VERY well done, that's not easy to make the small bend back and forth and you did it so cleanly and in just the right place. Much respect!
