I've got a '91 L2550 and the two grease fittings on the upper elbow closest to the steering wheel seem to not be taking grease. Also, I was barely able to get the grease gun off of the fitting, so it seems like it was bigger than the other fittings. I cleaned around it as much as I could, but I'm not sure what to do. This is my first Kubota and I bought this used and it was it very good condition, so I want to keep it that way. Suggestions?

If you haven't worked the ball on the fitting around first, do that. Sometimes they seal themselves to the seat of the grease fitting.

First option after that is take the fittings out, and make sure they take grease when not mounted. Replace the fitting if necessary. Also, when the fitting is out, a little WD-40 into the joint to work things loose. But WD-40 is not a lubricant, so you need to take care of it one way or the other.

Second thing is a www.locknlube.com coupler for your grease gun. I just got one last summer, and really like it!

They're pricey, but if you search lock n lube here, you will see a lot of other guys here swear by them, too!!

Good Luck!!:D

Take RCW's advice, he like the rest of us that use it - that lock-n-lube is the cats a$$ !!! IF it cost 50 bucks, it still would be worth it .

If I told you it was allllllmost fun to grease some 30+ zerks on a BX25 ....would you believe me?:D;):)

What would it mean that the grease gun goes on to these two fittings very easy, but it is extremely hard to remove. All the other fittings go on and off very easily and take grease, these two are stubborn though.

The pressure exerted by the grease is what is holding the coupler on the zirk.
Removing/replacing is the easiest course of action. In my case i keep an assortment of fittings for reasons such as this. If i remove a grease fitting, a new one goes in its place.

If the locknnlube won't grease it, remove the fittings and soak in gas or diesel, and then take a toothpick and clean them out. Then clean out the sockets they screw into, and put some penetrating oil (I like Kroil, but that's just MHO) in the sockets. THen reassemble, and try lubing with grease,again...:D:D
