Thanks again for all the kind words it's nice to see our Orange family cares also. Do any of you have a Hiatal hernia and if so did you have it repaired or do you just take medication? If I don't have to go under the knife I'm not going to.

Daniel, my dad had a hiatal hernia, and managed it for many years without surgery until he developed stomach cancer at 92. Managing these esophageal reflux, hiatal hernia, and associated other problems is hard. There are a bunch of avoidable things that can make them worse, certain foods, and often unknown to primary care physicians, there are a bunch of medications especially some of the ones used for high blood pressure that make reflux much worse. Eg I didn't have reflux/stomach problems until I took calcium channel blockers for migraines. It was years before I read about the link. I would find a top notch gastroenterologist that can look at the whole picture, and first try to manage without surgery. It will depend on how bad it is. There are consequences to the anti acid meds too. I hope you can do well!

Hopefully, you are just joking.;)

This isn't a Kubota website, it is a forum group of people who share a common appreciation of Kubota's. Therefore, the focus is the people, who like Kubota tractors. Without people, there'd be no forum.
Way to take the high road hodge, my initial response was a hey of a lot lower. I didn't hit send this morning as what I had to say would take away from the intent of the thread.

Glad things worked out for all those that shared thier experiences or hope it does work out for those still fighting!

My mom has had two that she had repaired. I know the recovery is a bit long but she felt much better afterwards. I might get a few opinions from doctors on it and then make a decision. But if it came to surgery, in the hands of a capable surgeon, you will be just fine! :)
