Wolfman - thanks. You're confirming my thoughts as well.

I bought a Albany, NY area classified magazine other day. He picked out a Mercury Milan as a sharp car within our $4k price range!!

He wanted a larger sedan or SUV over a pickup. He's 6'4" - same height as dad, just not as wide. I couldn't talk him into nice the '95 Suburban I found, but the 20 year old 4WD system on that could be a problem, too.

Most of his buds drive 4-door sedans - WTF???

My first was a '67 Caprice, 327 4bbl, L60's/Cragars, H70's/rally's, Cherry Bomb Header Mufflers hooked to Doug Thorley headers - remember that stuff, guys?!? Got some tickets for the Cherry Bombs "For off-road and track use only." :D:D
I can relate to that.My 1st car was a 1966 Mustang 289. I added Hooker headers and a 500cfm 2bl Holley installed a 4.11 Zoom rear gear. Nothing (small blocks) in my home town would touch it.

Did the rear brakes tonight, and thanks to Frank aka Tooljunkie for the help.

I rolled it outta the garage, and it STOPPED!

My son gets back from Boys State Saturday. Will drive it tomorrow night to make sure all is working, and run the pads in.

Thanks, guys!:)

Jim - what's funny after this trip is I knew where to jack up a '67 Chevy.

You gotta be careful with these cars - they have little for frame parts!

In the last couple weeks i have had in my shop:
59 dodge regent four door (safety and wipe some ugly off)
66 mustang (rear diff overhaul)
67 mustang (4 wheel cylinders)
77 firebird (check over and loose convertor bolts)
91 corvette (engine knock) pending.

I never get my share of old school fixin, so i was enjoying myself.

59 dodge coming back for a big block transplant and auto trans in fall.

RCW, glad to be of service!
I remember my first gm rear disc battle, there was no interweb to turn to for help.

Ran the brakes in tonight. Everything felt smooth, no funky noises. Didn't feel like anything was hanging up. Pedal felt good and solid, no pulses.

Did get some blue smoke off the left front. Guessing I didn't get or keep that rotor clean when installing.

That car, with 96k miles, doesn't have one rattle, wiggle or any other noise. Good, solid car so far. God - I hope I didn't just jinx myself......;)

Thanks again, Frank.:)

You'd love this place. Largest collection of air-cooled Franklins known, built in Syracuse, NY. Everything from '80's Delorean to 1910 electric car. Cunninghams, Auburns, Cords, Duesenbergs, Packards, Marmons, Shelby Mustangs, Daytonas/Superbirds - we got 'em! Even have some Henderson motorcycles.

Most years, get visitors from 48 or so of the 50 states, and about 24 foreign countries.

I'm Vice President of the Board of Trustees, will be President in 2 years. Did the same rotation 12 years ago.

400/727, was cheap i knew the truck from way back, many years old but not a lot of miles. Will likely have to change the pan. Or re-work it to fit the car. Buddy has a 62 with a big block, will be copying the engine mounts as the small block ones i believe are different. I may have a line on a power steering/power brake parts car. Should be a nice driver next spring.
