Is it to much to ask for a reliably working fuel gauge on a 2015 BX25D-1 ?

First to fill ups worked perfect...3rd fillup not so much. It pretty much shows empty (light on) all the time now. Granted I fill the tank to the brim and figured it was an air pocket, but now i'm probably at 3/4 to 1/2 a tank left.

I know earlier analog models had issues but the new ones also? WTF, for as much as you spend the fuel gauge should always work.

get on the horn and call your dealer.....some of those sending units have broken down over time and caused a hellva mess....but those are much older units.

I would not touch that problem - all that is warranty stuff. Mine is kinda the opposite - shows full till it is about empty!;)

I just look in the tank from time to time to see where it's at even though my gauge seems to work, and go from there.

I think there maybe a service bulletin on that issue. You might check with your dealer.

On my BX there is a hose from one leg top of the tank to another leg top to even out the level. Could it be your hose is plugged or not there?? The gauge and float are on the left leg, opposite from fill. If there is no way to let air in or out of that side, it may be your trouble.

Yes, it is too much to ask for. Mine didn't work right off the lot. They tried to fix it, still don't work. I just look to see the fuel level to know when to fill up. We put a man on the moon, but can't let you know when your fuel is low. lol.

Will the dealer come to you to fix? Worth asking, I have had my BX25 since September and no issues with the fuel gauge...took out my hazard light yesterday with a fallen tree.

Good luck with getting it fixed without being a total PIA.

That makes me worried that my bx25d - which is still reading full - really isnt. I gotta go look in the tank to make sure now :(

This has been discussed in several threads. With the odd shaped tank in the BXs the fuel level reads full until the tank is down to at least half.

But once its half it will start to drop right? I wont read full (on most bx25's) and then all of a sudden run out?

Was wondering just how great the bx25 was on diesel. Blowed 3 times in this storm for like 4 hours and still full. I thought wow great on diesel this little machine.......

its probably not still full

Half a tank, 3 gallons, for 4 hours of snow blowing is pretty good. At least when I'm blowing snow the engine is pretty well loaded, as I have to control the ground speed to keep from lugging the engine. That matches my usage as I blow snow for an hour or two and put in about a gallon to fill it up. My 24" walk behind blower would use that much gas in an hour and not move near the snow.
