Hello all. New here and I need some help. I have a 1976 Kubota B7100 that we purchased new. This thing has been an awesome tractor never let us down. Has creep gears and Kubota trencher on the back and front blade. The engine has pretty much had it lots of blow by. My question is I purchased a G6200 in very good condition with the hopes of swapping the motor over to my B7100. Will this work? Thanks for any help you can offer.

There is a search button on the page.
It has been my best friend on learning about new stuff.

That would not be a very easy swap, they are different series of engines with different measurements on key components.

What you want is either a D750, D850, Or D950

D950 are fairly common, it will require you to alter the radiator and alternator, but the rest is a straight bolt in operation.

With respect to the original poster,I have played with the idea of a d950 swap into my b6100
What alterations to the alt and rad are need?

Oldways,
Key components that are different are the flywheel, starter, motor mounting locations, water pump and fan drive, and (Possibly) bell housing bolt hole location.

al m,
You will need to make the radiator outlets smaller and change the angle of the bottom outlet, I did mine with copper plumbing pipe fittings.
You will need to add an alternator as the D750 has a dynamo and no water pump. The D950 has a water pump and a remote alternator.

If your engine has never been rebuilt, and runs ok now except for the worn rings, it may be an excellent candidate for refreshing by an engine machine shop. For around $1k+/- it could be bored for new 1st oversized rings, new valves, reconditioned head & new gaskets. The existing engine bolts back into place with no drama or adaptation. Kumar Bros has decent prices on parts.
