Ive been searching this out for days. Plenty of people who have done it, none of which post part numbers...

I found the alternator- easy part, wiring harness, not so easy... I can make my own bracket, but does anyone have a number for the belt? I dont want to run a NAPA fart fan belt...

Im not building or buying a cab if I cant run a heater or extra lights on this girly Dynamo.

Napa used gates for their belts, dont know if its still the case. Cant see it being a problem.
Depending on alternator, some connectors can be found through napa as well.

Gates are fart fan belts. At least in the HVAC world. Sims is looking like the only cab for me as well, if anybody has it in stock.... I have a few dealers looking into the "kit" for me. Heres hoping its not $600...

Napa belts are fine, unless you've got a 500A alternator, and if that's the case, good luck with a little B series engine making enough power to turn it.

Kubota used to use Mitsuboshi belts. Don't know who supplies them now. They have a part number for Kubota on them but not much else.

The plug and harness can be found almost anywhere if you google it. Seems like many alternators all use different plugs. Just put a Denso (OE) on my MF 1140 tractor (from a BX2670) and it uses a round 3 pin plug that I found from Waytek wire.

Below are the part numbers needed to install the Alternator upgrade
on a B2710 (or similar) tractor:

Kubota
Part number: Description:
16241-64012 - 40 amp alternator upgrade
14911-97010 - Alternator belt
6C070-95310 - Wire harness
16241-64422 - Alternator bracket
17478-60080 - Slow blow fuse
68881-53540 - Harness Relay
6C040-95330 - Bolt collar

Another thing I found was a "how to" instruction sheet with pictures. I converted it to PDF but I cannot upload it. So I guess you will have to PM me and I can send it to you. It is written for a B7800/B3030 but it also applies to my B2710 so I think it will apply to a lot of B type tractors.

The kit that I bought and put on my 2650 had everything in it, plus some extras. Part number on the kit is b7324 and fits various models.

Found these on another forum....

I found the kit also but they wanted $454 for it not including shipping. The parts I bought above cost me $223 including shipping. The parts not included are a couple of bolts and the oil dipstick tube. The instructions I found indicated that the original bolts could be reused and the existing dipstick tube could just be bent out of the way.

Not saying it is perfect, and maybe there is a full kit for a cheaper price, just sharing what I found....

Thanks.

The full kit can be had from a dealer between $198 and $220.

The $454 price I got was from my local Kubota dealer. I even tried to haggle with them and they said they could not come down on the price at all. That is what led me to identify what was in the kit, what was not needed by reusing original parts and then pricing out what was needed.

It would have been so much easier if I could have found a dealer that would sell the kit for ~$200...

On a related note, does anyone know what the bolts holding the new alternator bracket need to be torqued to? I believe these bolts also hold the water pump in place.

Thanks,
-Keith

I know its water under the bridge at this point...

I got quotes from 2 local dealers, one was $210 and the dealer I normally use was $220. And that included the shipping they charged me to to get the kit to them.

Heres the kit from Colemans...

Well I was just informed that the wire harness that connects the alternator to the rest of the electrical components is not available (i.e. part number 6C070-95310)! I was even told it was discontinued.... Argh! So now I am back looking for the kit to see if anyone has that available. I already contacted Coleman Equipment but have not heard back yet.

Does anyone know where the alternator kit might be available? I believe the part number is: B7324.

Thanks, -Keith

Order it through your dealer. It's available but I doubt they stock it.

Got mine from a Dealer for $185 + shipping 40 minutes to my door. While I was in there swapping out wiring harnesses I found a mouse apt complex and cleaned it all out, and now my fuel gauge wont read. Im betting its a gummed up connection but I havent had time to really dig into it.

The parts finally arrived!

Found out the $454 price was from the service/parts department and if you go through sales it was $215! Makes no sense to me.

Still looking to find out what the bolts securing the thermostat should be torqued to, does anyone know?

A lot of times its the same way with vehicles. Go buy a new Chevy pickup with those little useless mirrors on it. Want to get tow mirrors, ask parts department and they want close to a grand  for the mirrors and wiring harness. Go gripe to the salesman about it and they can get you (through the same parts department that you were just fighting with) a whole upgrade kit out of the accessories catalog for $350. Makes perfect sense.
