Will it hurt to run 3 cyl kubota with just manifold no pipe or muffler?

I think the pain will be in your ears ........

gonna be load as a jet engine:(

After about 10 minutes with ear muffs.....you gonna want to cut her off!;)

when I bought my G1900, the original owner had somehow managed to break the exhaust manifold. So rather than fix it, he removed it. Exhaust running right out of the head. I asked him how long he ran it like that. His response was that he couldn't remember. Judging by the the soot on the underside of the hood, probably a year or so. Engine runs great. And yes I fixed the exhaust.

I have had people that should know tell me that it's a bad idea to run a diesel without exhaust pipe and muffler. Something to do with certain internal parts of the engine being exposed to colder air while the parts are hot. I have to wonder if that's true. The noise involved is enough for me to not do it.

On some of the newer diesel exhausts on larger motors, it's just a glorified spark arrestor. You'll see some little cutouts around the edges inside to help dampen the sound. But the decibel level is achieved by how big the tin can is on top
