If you shoot us some pictures and hours of use - we could give you a better ball park idea of what a good starting price might be.
Here is a picture of the tractor. She is getting me a picture of the tiller and brush hog she wants to sell with it. She is also getting me the hours on it. I do know that the engine was overhauls last summer.

That brings back memories. I sold one just like it about 10 years ago for $1800 with a 4 ft kodiac bush hog and 4 ft landscape box. Mine even had a railroad track front weight like yours. It was a great running little tractor just needed new seals around the gear shift lever. Fluild spilled out around the shift levers and ran down the transmission.

Are you in Beauregard Parish? NIW's suggestion about CL is a great one for seeing the asking prices. And you might get a good idea of what the old iron sold for by checking TractorHouse.com and AuctionTime.com and looking up the sold and closed auctions.

That's a fantastic amount of hours. I would say you all got your good out of that tractor! New tiller is $1599 but that one is clearly no new. I would imagine $2500 would be about right. High hours, not a beauty queen, but functional. Just my opinion. I could be off.

Did you take into account the engine has been overhauled a year ago? That is what.....a $2000 investment in overhauling an engine these days?

If it was a true overhaul... and not just a look over and replace leaky gaskets... then I'd have it nicely painted so you can get more money back from the overhaul investment. Maybe nicely paint the Tiller too. Not a Restoration paint job... just a nicely done spray, maybe new stickers from Kubota to top it off. If you don't you'll get no where near her investment in return. With new paint and a refreshed engine your going to get closer to 4grand for it?? (assuming it was 2grand complete engine overhaul)

Thank you. I will ask her about receipts. I am sure she kept them. She wants something with a front end loader to help with the farm but not kill her in the bank account.
