Just got the bad news my ZL 2002 DT has blown engine. Can only find one local to replace and he is quoting $3800. Anybody have any other sources close to Chattanooga?

If the block is truly cracked then a repair could be iffy. Did they show you the crack? sometimes repair shops are lazy and don't want to rebuild so they tell customers all kinds of things!! Especially true with gray market tractors.

I want a picture of the crack. You can weld this type of metal. But you need to know what the heck your doing!

Do you live in chatt or toward soddy? Can you post a pic or if you live soddy I would like to look at the crack. Let me know let me look at crack before they teardown. handy

Sweet, so there are multiple people on this board from the Chattanooga area. I'm only about 35 minutes away myself.
Where is the crack ? I am going to send you a pm. Also did they show you the crack and how did they find it? What I am asking is which method did they use? Is it in the cylinder wall under piston action? Or did they just tell you the block was cracked? Do you know if cylinder wall is cracked? Please answer .

I really wish you would tell us on forum where crack is .Also how they found it. I would like to know if you can see it . I havent recieved any responce on this.Please take time on forum to tell us about the crack also if you will watch craigslist for knoxville and cookville and watch lsn a man often puts engines that has been rebuilt on there. Next week I am going to be very busy.Good luck. handy
Vic and eserv have given good alternatives. Also Im like WILL what has the shop did to it ? Would be bad to tear it down and not fixed it before they put it back togather. handy

B7001 - looks orange to me... Woods 5' scrape, 42" rotary cutter, shreader/chip.
I'm in Ringgold area (Varnell).
Perhaps we should have a Chattanooga area group on this site to discuss local sources / shops.
Just a thought.

looks like this thread died shortly after it started but.... as you revived it for local to Chat. purposes, I'm about an hour northeast of Chattanooga. Maybe enough could get together for a meet and eat sometime.

I just made a group in the community section for the Chattanooga Area Kubota owners.
It seems that there is alot of them around.
I think that it would be great to have a resource for discussing local resources and to meet one another.
