2015 BX25 with only hours on it and this I get:

https://youtu.be/THZsrvf8uT0

I am not sure what the issue could be here? From different posts I have read, and talking with dealer both indicate it could be an ignition switch. I removed the switch and took it apart. Looked perfect to me. Not sure what other Nanny devices maybe causing this issue?

I am no longer a fan of Kubota, and will never make the mistake of buying another one, but anyway...

My new BX25 had the starting issue that was traced back to the ignition switch. It acted much similar to yours.. Take the switch apart and make sure the tension on the springs behind the contacts are strong enough to press them against the plates.

Couple questions for you . 1- does it not start after you have been running it for a at least one minute ? 2- you do realize there is a delay for the fuel shut off solenoid? I don't think you can turn it off and right back on immediately like you are doing in your video . I could be wrong , never tried doing that on mine . But when you shut it off , wait till you here a fairly loud "tink" . That would be the solenoid , then try to start it . When you start it when warmed up , just turn the key to start . No need for waiting for the instrument cluster, no need for glow plugs . 3- when it doesn't start can you hear the fuel pump running ? That would be a constant ticking noise . Try this first and let me know the results . I just went through a "no start" by the key situation and I can help you trace it down .
4- still under warranty ?
5- first diesel?

I did, all looked well. I dont have anything to compare it do, but the springs seems good as well as contacts.

1. Yes. It could be running hard for an hour, and do the same thing.
2. No, where can I find out more about that Solenoid?
3. I hear the ticking noise when I turned the key. Is that what you are referring too?

4. Yes- 20 hrs it
5. First diesel tractor of my own.

Wow, ever heard "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water"?

It's a piece of equipment with a thousands of parts, it has a warranty for a reason, take it back to the dealer and have them fix it.;)

The Dealer is 4 hours away. I could have it shipped to a local dealer but it would cost me $200 just to get it there. I might as well buy any parts and just install it myself.

As far as baby and bath water? This tractor has left me so disgusted, I stand by my statements. If it started up every time, I still wouldn't like it, but that doesn't solve my issue.

I have the same issue. My summer place is 1 hr outside town and I have no way of transporting the machine to the dealer. They have come up to do one warranty service but I have just asked them for the parts and do the work myself. So far they have been great, although the troubles I have had should never have happened to a new tractor.

a) Flat front tire
b) Seriously corroded ignition switch
c) Leaking FEL hydraulic line
d) Tie Rod dust boots rotted off.

All within a month of ownership and less than 9 hours use.

Ok , see if I can step you through this .
First , see if dealer will come out . Make sure they bring key switch, hst pedal safety switch , PTO lever safety switch , seat safety switches, fuel shut off solenoid , should be one of those . If they don't come out then you can track it down . Do you have a multi meter ? You will need one .
The fuel shut off solenoid is on top of the injection pump . It is on the left side of the engine , can't miss it . Turn the key on and observe the solenoid . Leave the key on(not running) and without sitting on the tractor move the PTO lever and the solenoid will close . Try same thing with the hst pedal and get back to me on the results .
Other than this problem , what are you dissatisfied with ? Just curious .

Thank you. I will check the Solenoid when I get home.

"what are you dissatisfied with" -Its all the stuff you dont realize until you get the thing home.
The front hydraulics are just too anemic for me.
The loader doesn't lift high enough, or have enough power
The Bucket curl doesn't have enough power to get the tractor unstuck.
The Electrical system so far is just crap.
I find the tires are too small to get any traction
The diff lock is completely awkward to engage
The hoe swing past a certain point is useless
The angle of approach for the hoe, low so it always hangs me up.
Outrigger pads are undersized.( never saw that coming)
You need this thing wide open throttle to get anything out of it.
I have read from others that this thing "sips fuel" I think its a gas hog.
The Seat lock is flimsy crap.
But most of all this starting issue has me furious.
Kubota customer service really couldn't careless. if you post an issue on FB, they delete it. Fine by me.

If you guys love your Kubotas more power to you. I take no issue, and really appreciate the help offered. I think I am going to get this thing running good for the next guy and dump it for a Mahindra,Massey or Deere (something that runs)

Sorry for your woes man but a lot of your gripes are performance related. Maybe you should have bought a bigger machine. You may be expecting too much out of the BX25. No matter what the issue at hand is, you will never be satisfied so I recommend you look at upgrading.

Sounds like you bought too small of a tractor for you actual needs. The BX is a nice home owner machine for Light duty work. Mowing, snow removal, digging small holes/trenches, and light loader work. You can't expect a small tractor like that to perform like full size, I don't care who makes it.

I have countless hours on a B7100, a machine that would just take it and take it and ask for more. I would have thought the machines would have improved 10 fold since then. I thought I was buying a B7100 buy it, beat the shit out of it, and then change the oil type tractor. That has not been my experience. Completely underwhelmed is more accurate. I was told by the Mahindra guy not to buy one either, So I guess the blame goes in the Mirror too. Frustrated because I am very close to buying either the Massey or Mahindra.
I have never been so mad or disappointed with a purchase before. Not even with my nonstop rattling 2008 Mazda 3 was I this mad.

Someone call the SPCK, Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Kubotas...:D

Just think flienlow if you had tried out your back slope experiment with a bigger, taller, and probably tippier tractor instead of the BX what might have happened.

Most of us are glad you made it out of that in one piece!

Tippier tractor? I should have put that in my bitch thread above too. :)

AND I AINT DONE WITH THAT SLOPE YET!!! ( but thank you.) We are redoing the decks and some interior remodeling which has taken most of my time. I did import some dirt, but I will need to build some retaining walls. I am not sure how I want it yet. I am sure my new Mahindra will do a fine job on it. :)

Flienlow, go back to this link and read all 6 pages. http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18690.

You were all over the board. You didn't know what you wanted then, bought something, and now wish you didn't.

This is what you said on 3-26:

"At this juncture I think my new tractor is going to be................
Orange.
Not necessary because im posting on this forum.
I am factoring in:
1.Size -I dont need a huge tractor
2.Availability- (parts & accessories) - Kubota is everywhere.
3.Cost- lower priced than some, free money 60mo @0%
4.History- Grandad beat the holy living P-water out of his, they wanted more.
5.Reviews- I went to a different forum that does tractor reviews (you all know it) The reviews for this tractor surprised me- A LOT. I did not read where people thought the loader was weak like I thought I would.
6.Grapple- this stupid thing has broke many a deal for me.

Since I am on it. Why am I (at this moment) deciding against:
1. Max 22,24,25 - Fit and finish is not where it needs to be for a machine at this price. Maybe its my hangup, but I find this "cheap" tractor isn't cheap, and needs to be dressed up a little. -However, I am more than sure it will do the advertised job.
2. JD 1025R - Like the Max, a little too big, and too much money. Looking at it, it should have stellar reviews, they seem marginal.
3. GC1720.- No local support, no easy addition of a grapple system or thumb. This tractor was my fist choice. I would need to travel for hours just to see one. None of them are available either. - This just miffs me, and is inexcusable IMHO.

This is all subject to change, but where I am at this moment. - Now...back to work."

I would submit your indecision is making you miserable. A different brand will present new dislikes, less funds in your bank account, and a new set of gripes.

Good luck to finding the perfect machine, dealer, and functionality you can live with!

All the problems you have stated ,,, are all dealers fault. Flat tire, hydraulic line = dealer prep . Ignition switch and tie rod boots rooted is another dealer prep problem . If the dealer is going to leave new machines sit out in the elements then they should be willing to fix what the weather has done before delivering the machine . Don't worry , you get past these few things and you will be glad you went with the machine you have . Rember , every rose has its thorn . Green , red, or any other color tractor isn't without its problems either .

Thank you, Hopefully there is someone out there that can sell me something that starts, stays running, and can move itself. I assure you, it isn't a Kubota BX25.

I trust you will find a sympathetic ear somewhere. Trust me, I'm not it.

Move on to the next forum and bitch to them. I wish you the best in your tractor quest. I'll bet there's Mahindra and Massey forums out there..........

God Speed.
