Turf tires for an l1501/ l185

I did a search but didn't find what size turf tire I need for the front and rears on my l1501. Which is the equivalent to the l185. Checked the site and tractor data with no luck. In this case I'm looking for rim and tire size. Doesn't have to be an exact match since it's two wheel drive. Just looking to keep it in the ball park with more flotation for mowing I have my son in law keeping an eye out for some mud tires and six lug chevy rims that would get me close for the rears. But really need to get away from the pizza cutters on the front as well

My l1501 is 8.3/22 rear tires. fronts im running 4.80/12 trailer tires.

They exist, but cant locate a local supplier

Do you now have 4.00-15 front tires & 9.5-24 rear tires?

4.00-12 tri ribs on the fronts, rear's are 8.3/8-22. Rice patty special's

The manual states for the L185T (turf tire I think)

Rear 20x8-10
Front 13.6-16

Daren, here's some pictures. Fronts are 4.00x12. Rears are 13.6x16. I bought the rears from a guy who removed them from a B8200. They stand about 38" high. Look nice on the L1500, I think. Please overlook my steering wheel center cap and fancy seat!!

I got the same seat on mine mine still has the vinyl cover but no padding. It might last one more season. I had a similar cover on my exhaust except it was from starbucks

Thanks guys for the posts. Now for some hunting to find rims and tires I got a little sticker shock looking at what the back tires cost didn't dare look to see what the rims would be

Specialty Tire on route 90 North has the front tires.
I bought one for about $40.

I think we found it at the same time just got done reading it. I remember reading a post by wolfman where he used a set of chevy rims and some mud tires to achieve the same thing. My son in law works for a used auto parts supplier tearing apart cars. I got him looking for a set of 6 lug chevy rims and some 36 to 38" mud tires And if I ever get some free time during the day, I'm gonna start calling the tire shops in town and see what I can find.

The front tires aren't bad for the price. Would still have to get the front rims though

http://www.knightdaletractor.net/ has a L245 with turf tires and rims on it they are parting out if that will help. not sure how much the shipping would be but they were really reasonable on the sheet metal parts I got for my b7100

Thanks for the tip I've been meaning to give west Kentucky a call too. Just been busier then a one armed paper hanger at work. By the time I think about calling they are closed

West Kentucky is 250 each just for the rims

If I could do it again I would buy tires off a semi truck. Something in the 24" variety.

Well I found a used tire store in town that has a crap load of mud tires . Meant to call them back tonight when I got home to see if all I need is a standard truck rim for a set of 38's to fit or if I need to look for a wider rim. But got side tracked. I'll give them a call tomorrow to find out what size rim I need to fit what they have, and then check out the scrap yard in town for a set of steel rims. I'll have to ask them what there tires are going for also

Well I can get the 37" mud tires for $75 a piece with half the tread still left. Now to check the junk yard for a set of 20" x 10" wide rims for a decent price with a really close bolt patern for the tractor so it won't take much for modification

Picked up a couple of 17" Chevy rims after consulting where I found the mud tires, to make sure they had some 37" to fit. The bolt pattern is so close to the bota it's not funny.
So it will only require a slight modification to the bolt holes.

The question I propose is what should I use to increase the center hole size to 4 1/4" to fit the hub?

Air powered die grinder, with good carbide tip, and patience. Unless you know someone with a large lathe.

Die grinders a good idea . My compressor at the house won't handle it though. But, a dremel will do the same thing. I'll have to swing by the shop and grab my bits. I didn't give it a thought when I was leaving work tonight. Happened to stumble onto the rims on my way home out in front of a junk shop

Hole saw. Drill big hole in a piece of plywood, then take piece with big hole and center it over rim,a couple bolts to snug to rim and away you go. Unless all you need is millimeters.
