Most of us don't have enough space,(100 by 100 barn) to store the tractor and all the impliments. These are some pictures of what I built to cover the finish mower, tow dolly and bush hog.
It's just a 2x4 frame covered with plastic roof sheets. The front just folds up for a quick back the tractor hook up. There are steel angle iron bars driven into the ground at each corner to hold the box down from wind.
The other picture is of the melon patch. Can't wait for that to start produceing.

Now thats thinking with your dipstick Jimmy. Not a bad ideal at all, maybe get some pallets and stick in there to keep the attatchments off the ground. I thought about buying used metal shelves that you can get second hand from Lowe's or Home Depot and doing the same thing. In an effort to keep the toys off the ground and out of the elements.

Thanks for posting this. That gives me some ideas too. I have been thinking about how I would configure a new shop for all my stuff. This option could take a load off my space.

We have pretty bad geo-moisture that rises up out of the ground here in Ga. I might think to use a layer of that same stuff under the melons to control against rust. I had a car that I stored similar to that idea of the sheds and the geo-moisture hurt it bad. :(

Great job with the melon patch. Melon harvest party at your house. :D :D :D :D

Toyboy, every once ina a while we get hit with that crap.
Aquaforce, got to thinking about the ground moisture and came up with another idea. I added a layer of rolled roofing to the floor and sloped the floor to the front. Should keep a lot of the moisture out.

Thats fine and dandy until something pokes a hole in the roofing floor. I'd say line the floor with some pallets. Which most people give those away.

You could put a thin layer of gravel over the roofing if you didn't want to mess with the pallets. I would suggest pug mix or base material depending on where you go is what it may be called. Level it down smooth and it will set up like concrete if it comes from a good supplier.

That will work well against geo-moisture. Nice touch with the slope. ;)

If you are the one putting your stuff in there and don't poke any holes through the lining that would work fine. I only have a thin black plastic liner in my boat shed and it does well. I don't ruff up the floor and the liner does great againt the geo-moisture.

That's a good looking melon. That would have been the perfect size to ice down in a cooler and inject it with vodka. That's the perfect summer time treat.

Hey ipz, years back did you have a shop on Broad st?

bulldog, yes I did. I bought Britton Transmission from Mr Britton in '85 and later changed the name to Advanced Transmission. I split the business and sold half to one of my employees and started a new co, Fleet Transmission. I still run it today.

I thought that was you when I saw the pic of you and the watermelon. It's been about 20 years since I saw you. I guess the last time was when you and your RR man had built that hot rod go cart with the motor cycle engine on it. Well, I'll take that back. I saw it just as it was finished and then saw it after it was crashed in the back lot. I delivered for Don (Precision Converters) back then. I don't know if you remember me or not.

That's us. What a coincedence. Man, we had fun with that "go cycle". A 400 yamaha twin cyl with 6 spd trans and golf cart rear end. I took that thing to the dragstrip and it ran faster than my '95 mustang gt. I just traded that thing off for a lawn mower last year. It was still running.
Unfortunantly, I don't remember you but, at 60 I don't remember a lot of yesteryears.
