I'm clearing my lot and pushing over alder trees. Probably over working my Kubota. Now when I go push stuff the front wheels will spin but the rear wheels won't spin like they used to. sometimes the rear wheels will spin and sometime they won't. Any idea what I broke?

Thanks
Scott

What happens if you put the tractor in 2 wheel drive? Does it move?

Yes it moves fine in 2 wheel drive. If push on a tree, and the bucket moves up the tree until the front wheels come off the ground the tractor will roll backwards until the front wheels touch the ground again.

That just doesn't compute:confused:
If it was in 2wd it wouldn't matter if you took the front wheels off of it, it still would move and still climbing or spin the rear tires.

Plant the loader into something solid.
In 1st gear or low try and push, what wheels spin?
front bad or none?
If it's none then the clutch or HST is fried, if it's just the front then the rear diff is broken, if just the rears it's all fine.

It will drive around on level ground fine in 2wd. When its in 4wd and the front wheels come off the ground (when trying to push over a tree) it will roll backward even though I'm trying to still go forward. The back wheels will occasionally spin if I push on something solid. Sometimes the left wheel will sort of shake and not spin.

The front wheels will alway spin.

It could be low tire pressure- I've seen rims turn inside the tires on my skidsteer when pushing hard and having low pressure.
It scared me to death, until I realized that if a drive chain or sprocket were broken, I'd have nothing.
