The Dr. at the VA clinic prescribed some pills for me to help with memory loss. The next appointment he asked if they were working. I told him I forget to take them.
An old geezer, who had been a retired farmer for a long time,

became very bored and decided to open a medical office and put a sign up

outside that said: "Get your treatment for $500, if not cured get back $1,000."

Doctor "Young," who was positive that this old

geezer didn't know beans about medicine, thought this would be a great

opportunity to get $1,000.

So he went to Dr. Geezer's clinic.

This is what transpired.

Dr. Young: --- "Dr. Geezer, I have lost all

taste in my mouth." can you please help me ??

Dr. Geezer: --- Nurse, please bring medicine

from box 22 and put 3 drops in Dr. Young's mouth."

Dr. Young: --- Aaagh !! -- "This is gasoline!"

Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You've got your

taste back. That will be $500."

Dr. Young gets annoyed and goes back after a

couple of days figuring to recover his money.

Dr. Young: "I have lost my memory, I cannot

remember anything."

Dr. Geezer: "Nurse, please bring medicine from

box 22 and put 3 drops in the patient's mouth."

Doctor Young: "Oh no you don't, -- that is gasoline!"

Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You've got your

memory back. That will be $500."

Dr. Young (after having lost $1000) leaves

angrily and comes back after several more days.

Dr.Young: "My eyesight has become weak ---

I can hardly see!!!!

Dr. Geezer: "Well, I don't have any medicine for that so

-- " Here's your $1000 back."

Dr. Young: "But this is only $500..."

Dr. Geezer: "Congratulations! You got your

vision back! That will be $500."

Moral of story -- just because you're "Young"

doesn't mean that you can outsmart an old "Geezer" :D

I wonder what one of those video cameras the police are going to start wearing cost. Then you could see how it came apart and where you laid the parts down. That's my big problem I lay down a part to go get another tool and the part gets lost. By the time I find the part the tool is lost. Only a video camera could catch it all.
That cant possibly be old age!
I remember in my 20's losing tools. Spend an hour looking for it,giving up and
Finding a replacement only to set it down beside the one i lost an hour ago.

TJ, that made me burst out laughing. (No, no surgery required, but several bouts of hysterical laughter followed.) On reflection, I suppose I first observed that phenomenon in my twenties.

Thirty years ago, it used to make me weep. Now it makes me laugh. The only thing that's remained consistent is how annoying it is!

My wife and I were on vacation one year and we stopped in an rv park for the night. I got to talking to this old guy who had a 40' motor home. He said that was going to be his last trip. I asked him if the motor home was to hard to handle. He said, no I can still drive it okay, but when I get out on the interstate I forget where I'm going. True story. :(

I find it easier when im working by myself,as many of my mental notes are audio recordings( i talk to myself) and if i have a helper i have to repeat what i say because they dont hear it the first time.
That and we get into conversation and the whole works goes out the window.

This Works 80% of the time,
Finding the tool/part your using and loose.
Go back to the location you just came from. Chances are you carried it with you,, going after the part, or another tool, and just laid it down without realizing you had it in your hand to start with, When you went looking for the tool/part...... It's a big circle with me, I now spend more time back tracking than it takes to fix the project,,,

You want to make it more interesting??? Have a cup off Coffee in your hand.:D Now when you find your tool and get back to the project, YOU START LOOKING FOR YOUR COFFEE, and the journey begins all over again.
Be very careful, when you go back for your cup of coffee you don't have "ANYTHING" in your hands, and chances are when you get back to the work area everything is there.
Hope this helps,,,,,,,,,:D

Yup, that sounds about right :D I've set more tools down with out realizing it over the years. I have a system when I tear down equipment at work. Nuts and bolts always go to the same location on the frame, with half on one side and half on the other side. Tools get set out on my work bench. And I only pull the sizes I need. I get done with the socket it goes back to the table. Same with the wrench, impact, soda, water or snack ;) been several times I've had a customer drive off with my bag of chips

I have a feeling this is going to be a long entertaining thread....
I never mentioned i cant have cordless trouble lights- saw a nice one the other day though.

A few years back i was working under a truck, got it all done and parked it ouside for customer. She picked it up and drove home that same evening.
Looked back at truck and could see something glowing.good thing it had a good battery.
She was kind enough to return it next day. I did eventually lose it. Battery got weaker over time. Need a locater beacon on them things.
