This morning there was a puddle of gear oil under my left tire. didn't have time to take anything apart, but from what I can tell it is leaking between the rim and the hub. No longer leaking so I don't know where to start if I do take it apart. What should I look for? I see an oil seal in the parts manual could that be the only thing wrong or do I have to dig deeper?

You could get lucky and have just a failed seal, but normally the seal failed because of a bad bearing. ;)

I can order the outer bearing and the seal. Is it something I can do in the garage or do I need to have it pressed out and pressed back.
what are your thoughts, do I have to do both inner and outer bearing or the outer only?

Yes you can do it all, nothing is pressed in, Snap rings hold parts in place, well the seal is pressed in but that's easy to get out.
Pull it apart first, you might get lucky and it was just some trash that ruined the seal.
If the bearings are bad yes there is an inner 48 and outer 49 and 51 is seal.

just received all of the parts from Coleman's Equip.
will start work this weekend but before starting Is there a way of knowing if it is just the oil seal that is leaking? will there be any signs of bad bearings? if it spins fine without noises or if it does not have any play in it would it be safe to say it is the oil seal only?

let me know what you guys think
Thanks

I am not getting far. I removed the bolts from the gear case cover and I can't get it to separate. Am I suppose to take something else apart in order to open it up

My B6100D manual says "remove the 14 bolts... push and release the dust cover..."

Our machines must be different; I don't have the parts diagram the NIW posted. However, there shouldn't be anything except those bolts to deal with until you get it opened. I expect you need to employ your "persuader" (rawhide, lead, or brass).

Are you using the service manual? Page 22 gives step-by-step guidance.

It should just split and come off, might be bonded by the gasket.
