I added this to my Warranty Service Questionaire:

Here is an idea: How about offering a parts discount to frequent customers or members of the Orange Forum, which many customers belong to. That would help take the sting out of parts prices and help solidify brand loyalty.

Maybe if enough of us suggest it, they might consider it, even if just for filters and oil.

Ummm CCR, you do know that OTT is not a Kubota Corp. forum, its private, so that suggestion would have Kubota a little baffled.

Well that would be true Im sure if they never heard of it,,, But I know my dealer slithers through here and I have talked to other dealers in my travels that know the site as well. And I know from several HD forums that the MoCo does in fact have people looking through Harley sites.
And its funny if you look closely how some things we have seen on this and other tractor sites, that mysteriously show up on tractors like lighting for example. And it is surprising how many tractor fixes turn up on these sites, that wind up in the service manual too. So I am quit sure that the big "K" has heard of OTT. They just aint gona admit it

Precisely.

Oh rest assured they know about this forum. My local Phoenix dealer knows about this forum and I am assured the Western Regional Kubota Rep knows about this forum as well, so you can pretty much count on all the board members at Kubota USA recognizing it as well. How about reaching out to a HUGE population of users that rely on Kubota for parts?

If the manufacturer of a product limits his loyalty simply to those still on factory warranty and ignores everyone else, what does that say about the manufacturer? Now, if the manufacturer wants to instill brand loyalty and encourage this loyalty after the warranty ends, especially for those who may not have purchased their machines new, or under warranty, wouldn't a small discount program, even if just for consumables (filters, etc) go a long way toward that? Just sayin'.

They could come up with their own "Kubota Loyalty Klub" and offer periodic discounts. This would be one killer forum for getting the word out.

I doubt they'll take up the suggestion. But, if they were to come up with a program whereby we could buy consumables either online or from our local guys for 10% off, wouldn't that put a smile on your face?

Sure would mine. Thought I'd suggest it to them and see where it went. If more people did, they might take us up on the idea.

Something I've thought about is a "group purchase" option once in a while.

I bought a set of Centramatic wheel balancers for my Dodge through a Forum and there was a lot of conversation about the product, I'm sure resulting in many folks discovering a product they could use.

If every quarter you could know a discount would be available it would be make a list, and I'm sure things would be on the list that otherwise might not be there.
