I'm awaiting my "first" tractor to be assembled and delivered. This forum is very helpful. I'm wondering the best RPM for FEL and BH work. Thanks.

That all depends on the conditions and you.
Normally BH work is done with the throttle set for 540RPM on the PTO.
and loader work for me is all foot peddle throttle.

Thanks. I have a front mount snowblower coming also. I figured if I didn't get the RPM's right I would be going through shear pins or damaging the other implements.

No not really a damage issue, or of a clogging issues with the snow blowers.
Too low of RPM and it just won't put it out there. ;)

OMM,

this is an "old" issue - it comes right down to what you need and how you need it. Sometimes you will need to get the RPM's up - snowblowing for example, then again you might need a little less if you are doing delicate work!:D

Your B has an upper limit of something like 2700??? It will not hurt it to run at the upper limit - Kubota designed it to run there, they would not design it to have high range and then place the governor there, shoot - I can imagine some of these engines to work at a much higher RPM than the governor is set.

Bottom line - work of the hydraulics has been matched to a certain RPM, below or above that limit - well that's where the discussion begins!:):D:)

YOU do what you need! It is your machine - really no real "good" answer, but if you are going to cook an omelet - you got to break a few eggs(hoe work)!:D:D:D DONT baby it after break in.:)

For longevity of shear pins on snowblowers, keep them tight. I use nylon locknuts on mine. Also don't lower them all the way to the ground. Keep it at least an inch off of the ground, keeps the rocks and ice from jamming the chute...:D

Also torque them. They call for only 9 ft/lb on my GR2728. Which reminds me to get some extras......
I find that when one goes, they other is not far behind. It's my believe that they actually weaken over time and break without anything jamming things up....

I have a B2620 and I run just under the 3000 RPM mark for snowblowing and I find 2000 is good for loader work. Not too high but gives max speed of the loader.

I have pics on here doing heavy dirt work on an uphill also and you can see my tach at 2000 RPM and the tractor was happy. Did not heat up at all in 6.5 straight hours of pulling the box and angle blade uphill.
