I didn't do a search of the site for L1500 manuals but thought that some of the other manuals might be useful to someone if they're not available for free elsewhere.

One more piece of information I just found for those interested, my serial number plate also indicate "Z750" which stand for the type of engine and guess what...this engine was also used in the L175 manufactured in the mid 70's.
Does this mean that parts are interchangeable, including transmission parts?

Bill, the grey market tractors are a cross between two or three different north american models. For example the L1501 has the same motor as an L185, but some of the transmission parts are out of an L225. The trick is figuring out which parts from which model were used. And which parts are unique to the grey market models.

There was some talk previously of a separate forum category or list of US/grey crossover parts- I guess it never happened? Seems like it would be fairly easy for those who have found US parts/filters/etc that fit their grey models to publish their results.
Maybe even a list of generic serial numbers for those dealers who require a number to sell parts.

That would sure be nice, especially for a newbie like myself. I was hoping something like that did exist. Not only as this my first gray market tractor, but my first tractor all together.

Hi all.
I have the same model (L1500DT). I've found that it's a cross between an L175 and L185DT. Best explanation I can give is if an L175DT was made, that would be a direct cross other than PTO speeds. If you get operation manuals for the 175 it will tell you pretty much everything. The 185DT will fill you in about the 4x4 operation. When I look up parts, I use the 175 breakdown. All parts (again, with exception to the 4x4 system) are interchangeable. I've done a lot of work to my machine and would be happy to share what's I've learned. Send me a message with any questions or continue this thread.
