:)Hello everyone. I'm looking for advice/help on a problem with a broken dipstick. I was plowing snow last weekend had the bucket raised ready to dump and the front tire rolled off the rim and wrapped around the front arm and it broke off the dipstick. I dropped the bucket raised the front end and slid it backwards on the bucket about 500 ft to park it. I was in deep snow so I could have driven it maybe about 10 feet on the flat before it wrapped around. put air inn tire the tire and rim are fine. I had not noticed that the dipstick was gone until I parked it because of the weather. The problem is I found the cap but the 4 inch metal dipstick was gone. Went over the area with a metal detector not finding it. I used a extension magnet inside the fill hole to see if I could pick up anything nothing:(. Went to Kubota dealer He said It wasn't a good situation told me Id have to remove the 4 bolts and drain the oil to look for pieces. Certainly if it got ground up in there wouldn't you have to flush it somehow?. Just really worried how much damage I could have done cause the guy at Kubota kept saying not good over and over. Has anyone had this experience. I'm mechanically inclined and have access to all the tools. Although not sure about the flushing or making sure I get all the pieces out. would This be better done by a mechanic (it would but pretty spendy right now for me and mom). Any advice help would be so very greatly appreciated. Thank you

Not sure I can visualize that ! SO the tire broke through the mesh screen on the side of the tractor? AND then got a hold of the dipstick? WOW! I have heard of the tires not holding inflation....but this takes the cake!

As for the dipstick .....I would think it is at the bottom of the pan.....would not think it would get all chopped up........yet.....

Option 1 - dont do anything except place a large magnet on the bottom of the pan and hopefully hold the dipstick inside the pan ........not the perfect solution...

option 2 .....
drop the pan and get it out ! :) Might be a huge PITA but it will be worth it !

got a picture of this disaster ???

I am interpreting this problem as the fill plug and dip stick for the front axle, right? If so, mine appears to be plastic. If that is yours, well why worry.

Mine is plastic as well. Wouldn't you think all BX's would be the same? Sure doesn't seem like it.
