Daren brought it on himself, he knew he'd need rice tires when he got his tractor!
:p:p:p:p I actually didn't buy the tractor. Inlaws told me to go ahead and keep it when I borrowed it from them to do some grading. They wanted me in charge of the tractor so my bil didn't kill himself with it

That yard needs a whole bunch of sand tilled into it and some drain lines installed! That standing water would drive me nuts and my land is almost as flat!

Surprisingly enough, there is about a four foot height difference between the back fence line and the sway ditch behind the house. There is just a lot of high and low spots back there. I really need to get a hold of a d6 in august when it gets good and dry and smooth everything out back there. That portion used to be used for a catch all for lawn and yard debris. As it started getting over grown back there, they started dumpimg stuff closer and closer to the house.

I hate these stinking dandelions!!! I've been fighting them for 25 years. Every year they get worse. I'm done with it. Let 'm go. I told my wife this year we will have a green and yellow John Deere yard. :D

Thats a scary thought  thanks for the nightmares  we get over run with them too. But we have bermuda grass in quite a few spots and working on getting it started on the rest of the yard. It has very deep roots. Most folks around here that have bermuda just go through and hit there yard with a sprayer filled with an herbicide in the spring. There yard will turn yellow for a couple weeks, but then the bermuda comes back with out weeds :D

My farmer buddy gave me something for spraying my yard, a teaspoon of this powder does 5 acres. Aparrently non-toxic.

I think he was overlapping my back yard with fertilizer yesterday, i may not be too happy with him if grass takes off back there, he left a few piles on yard a few years ago, those spots almost stall mower.

Got tarp up. Looks good, will store 6 cars or boats, one season and its paid for.

More rain last night. Actually got an emergency alert about flooding. Haven't heard how much rain we got yet. And didn't want to slosh through the water to check the rain gauge. Encountered flooded roads this morning. And saw one field that had a four rail pvc fence. Water was up to the top rail on the fence  county had just built our road up with 10" of gravel, or else we would have lost it again.

My lawn sure looks nice this year with all those purty little yaller flowers all over it. :D
It was very thoughtful for someone to plant them for you. Their cousin must live near me because someone was nice enough to plane a bunch for me also.:D

Ok, this spring is the first time my wife and I have encountered this. Does anyone have any idea how to keep birds from nesting in hour hanging plants  I pulled the potted plants down off the hooks yesterday and found on two of them the birds have kicked out some of the dirt and laid an egg

Well the taters are starting to come up I thought they never would, peppers and maters are in and a row of beans. If none of it grows, then I guess I will have to go to the store

Snow! Was almost 80 on saturday and ice pellets and snow last night.
Day off and too ugly to play outside. Hulk sad....
I saw the weather forecast tonight. Maybe you could keep your weather up there in the GWN:mad:, but no you have to send it on down our way: 80s today:), 40s tomorrow:(, frost and possible snow tomorrow night:eek:. While others are watching their gardens grow we are still 3 weeks from planting anything for the deer to eat anyway.

Spent the weekend watering trees and grass. We are on a low pressure water system that has a 300 gallon tanks. So I set up a irrigation system with a couple of 250 gallon totes and I haul water into it.

It is drier that a popcorn fart here. We need rain to get this spring started! My grass seed looks like a thirteen year old boys beard. The trees I moved with the tree spade are hanging in there but I have been hauling water to them like crazy.

My bride decided she wants a couple box gardens made out of cedar. So far we are into thes for|

Cedar wood $500.00
Peat moss $60.00
Manure $ bottle of whiskey
Seeds $50.00

Them is going to be some expensive veggies?

Corney, did you happen to sink a pvc pipe next to your trees? It's a pretty common practice here do to the heat and drought during july and august. Then you can just drive around with a tank and fill the pipe up. Pipe takes care of watering the trees :D

I keep trying to talk mother nature into giving us a little break on the rain and send it somewhere else  we've gotten about 6 to 8" of rain in the past couple of weeks  I'm fixing to have to dig up some fruit trees that were planted this spring and pot them so they don't drown

Daren, cut a ditch alongside the trees, at least the water will have somewhere to go. 3 inches of rain last weekend, wouldnt know it now.
