Say it isn't so! Re. remote valve for 4800

I bought a 2006 M4800 a couple weeks ago with the intention of having a rear remote valve added. I dropped it off at the local Kubota dealership and they said they would have to order the valve. It's been about a week so I called to check status. Service Rep called me back and said that the part is on back-order and would not be available till March 2015. He also said that Kubota was only going to make 5 or 6 more and the part was going to be discontinued for this model tractor. He said they already had 3 orders and recommended that I not cancel the order.

Somebody tell me this is wrong! What are my options if I really can't purchase one from Kubota?

If it has a loader a rear remote can be added very easy. I put one on my L3000 a few years ago and it work fine. All it took was a valve, fittings and some hyd line. If Kubota doesn't come thru for you you can still add a remote and might even save you some money doing it yourself.

Kubota dealer quoted me $1000 for rear remotes . I did it myself for under $200

Kubota quoted me $1000 for parts and installation with $150 - $200 for the install. This tells me that it can't be that big of job. But where can I buy aftermarket parts?

Still can't believe that one of the biggest tractor dealerships in the world would stop supporting add-on's for a tractor less than 10 years old. I'm going to check with another dealership and see what they say but I'm all in to buy the equipment somewhere else if they can't come through.

Sadly that was a very low production, and not very popular model, most M owners wanted bigger heavier tractors.
But it looks like the real problem is in the fact they used an odd valve on that model.
They would be more than happy to have you move on to a newer unit.
