I don't respond to post like this;most of the time. I just couldn't let it go.

One: you might know how to run a bussiness, But how do i know that?

It bugs me a little to read that you want donations with a promise of repay.

Anyone who has made money and is doing ok. A. Knows not to LEND money, we give it. B. Lending money just hurts people's feelings when they don't repay.

Second, I have not read one thing about your bussiness model.

What is your structure? how are your handling it? Banks, Credit, Cash on hand? How much Capita do you have for when you screw something up? It will happen trust me.

If you are only using the money you are paid from the job to do the job. THAT IS A MAJOR PROBLEM. if you can't finish because something happens that you did wrong or your equipment breaks, then what?

How about maintence? how will you handle that cost?

what about Taxes? are you doing it yourself or having someone track it for you? It is better to use someone else TRUST ME.

I'm going to hop of this soap box soon enough. But here are last few questions/points.

One: you should be able to do this on your own; Via second/third jobs, washing car here or there.... ex...

Second, and this one will be harsh. I've always spoke my mind.

If you are so good at running a bussiness; why are you on a tractor forum asking for money? This is a local bussiness to you. Reach out to your neighbors.
Don't ask for money. Say hey, i see you need (blah) done. I will do it for free you just buy the stuff needed. Pass the word along if i do a great job.
Before to long and with little cost. You will find lots of work via word of mouth. As the saying always has been; " it takes money to make money"
What is $50 bucks in fuel for 3 new customers? then 6 the 12 then 24 and so on.

Please read this and don't get angry. Harsh words and hard things to hear are the best things in life for motivating yourself. CHALLENGE " PROVE ME WRONG ".

You may know peoplze in your area willing to put up money to get you rolling. I left my job with no real business plan, business cards, tax numbers and business registration. Following that charge accounts with parts suppliers and set up a business account with credit and debit card machine.
I am dependant solely on word of mouth and quality work.
But, i have a garage full of tools and skills to go with them.
Everything is paid for, no accounts less than 30 days.
I dont have two coins to rub together right now, but my personal savings are being spent on setting everything up. But all tax deductions.

Your success or failure is dependent on one thing-you!
Its all you have, work with it.
I wish you well in your endeavor.

Do you REALLY want to know what I say??

I say sorry for ever mentioning anything and ever asking for help from people ever again. Call me bitter or call me an asshole, I really dont care. It just pisses me off to no end I do sooo much for everyone else and I keep hearing I'll get my reward or no deed goes unnoticed. I really dont belive that BS, I think its just crap people say so they dont feel quite as bad for taking advantage of people.

So far 1,209 people have atleast on the minimum viewd this post and could help. But NOPE people cant be bothered to help others in need anymore.

Which is really wants wrong with this country. Selfish assholes who only care about themselves and no one else in need.

Boggles my mind that so many people have made donations to support this very sight by becoming lifetime memebrs and yet when one memeber asks for help with intentions to repay every single person back gets nothing. Guess this is were priorties lie.

And I'm not putting out across the world wide web indepth details about my business nor any more pertinent information about myself. Ive said enough of what needs to be said about me, that Ive made mistakes in the past. And Im man enough to admit that to total STRANGERS.

Sorry I said anything in the first place and wish I could delete this damn thread!!!

With an attitude like that you won't go very far in life or business.

Like I said before, many people have given you some great advice, to sad you are unwilling to take it and use it. :(

Insulting the very people that are in a position to help you out if they wanted to isn't very smart!
I personally wouldn't give you a dime, especially after you call me and others Selfish A******'s!
Good day to you and good luck, but please go sully some other forum as I've had enough of your ranting!
DONE!

I wish my dad would quit being such an ass and a bit more charitable. Ive offered several times to rent his tractor, putting coin in his pocket at an affordable rate to me and not have to worry about hours of operation on a clock.
I guess if you feel that way about your dad, there's no hope for us. Happy Thanksgiving.

I saw this on another forum. It reminds me of this thread of how someone is upset that he can't get something from someone else. Has no sense of responsibility and won't take ownership of his situation. An attitude of: You got it, I need it. I'll pay it back when I get it, and has no history of doing so. Even goes on the internet and express his anger towards his dad for not giving him more!

The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.

Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America:

1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.

2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.

3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.

4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.

5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries
only dream about.

6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want
America to be more like those other countries.

Think about it! And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century.

These three, short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

1. We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering…

2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. But we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't.

3. We cutting benefits for our veterans, giving no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping or cutting the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

Am I the only one missing something?

Selfish,huh?
Every year i help people. People i know that are in fact in need. A winters worth of firewood or vehicle repairs for free.
I was in your boots when i was in my 20's. No pot to piss in and no window to throw it out of.
Every step i made was down a hard road, between bad credit and and drinking every dime i made. I made changes.
i worked and paid for everything i have.
I take offence with you asking for money, claiming you have been doing this for 15 years. If you arent reaching the level of success you desire, maybe its time to rethink your business method.
I dont lend money. Sorry, but i have an arms length list of people that arent as nice as i was led to believe. I owe my friends nothing,i do however owe the bank a pretty grand sum.
Think im selfish? Theres an entire community here where i live that could tell you otherwise.
You need to be a little more humble and realize successful people here were offering valuable advice.
Thats all most all are willing to offer, after all thats what this forum is about.

One of our sons in the gaurd. He got put on active duty for a coulple weeks every month to keep his division up to snuff. Back when the government ran out of money, it was three months before he got his gaurd pay, and over 5 months before he got his active duty pay. In the mean time he was only able to work his full time job a couple weeks a month, had to drive back and forth to the base which was 40 miles one way, and had to try and keep from going bankrupt.

It's sad how our veterans are being treated

Eric,

I think you don't quite have a realistic handle on this forums reach and what this could have amounted to. You say at least 1,200 people could have helped. There have been 1,200+ clicks on this thread topic. That means it could have been the same 50 of us clicking on it 24 times on average to see what was being said as the thread progresses. I think the best this could have amounted to was about 50 people donating about $50 dollars. That would have been $2500 dollars assuming the best. Personally I don't think that would go far in securing a price of equipment between 10-30k. When others tried asking why they should give/donate/invest we have been met with nothing but shock that we aren't willing to just blindly put an hour or two worth of our life's time(more or less for different ones of us) into an envelope and send it away with a chance of seeing it again. If you were looking for a donation, that should have been clearly stated and you could have taken the initiative to setup a link to a site to go donate to. If you were looking for us to lend you money with intentions of paying it back, I think you should have defined your terms better. If you return my $50 in 10 years, I hope it is worth $35-$40 in today's dollars. Not my wisest investment. If you are hoping to borrow $50 and ask that interest is merely inflation(which is a much deeper topic on the bs behind the statistics our country chooses to define CPI with) then you should have stated as much. This little forum is a spec on the Internet with plenty of people who stroll through here looking for a piece of advice and move right along. I would say it is realistically between 50-200 daily users who keep up with the goings on around hear more than a couple months. I usually check this site daily from a mobile device, my desktop, my laptop and even my wife's phone or laptop. There have been days I probably made the site see 3-4 unique Ip's, yet it was one user. All that to say even site statistics may not be true of the crowd you are reaching.

My wife and kids will tell you that I'm the king of a$$ h$$$$ our kids have to plan ahead on there bills. If they run short, they have to come over and earn the money before we just give it to them. Wife and I work an average of 65 hours a week a piece to get the things we want. We expect our kids to work hard for there things as well.

It leads me to believe that your dad has a very valid reason for not allowing you use of his tractor. I personally could go up with the trailer and snag my dads anytime I wanted. But it would be in better condition then when I got it.
I can tell you from experience with my kids, that I'm leary on which kid can borrow what. My oldest is very responsible. He can come get what ever he needs. My daughter and son in law are the same way. They need it, they got it. I have one, thats not allowed to even borrow the steam cleaner. Will set it outside full of puke water for a month instead of cleaning it  And then not bother returning it. He gets really p$$$$d at us, and doesn't seem to understand that we aren't playing favorites here. It's based on how they treat other peoples things.
