I am new to Kubota tractors - how does one determine what model year their tractor is ?

I have an L4600 which I thought might be last years tractor as the new L4701 has replaced it, but I am told no that the L4600 is still considered a 2014 Tractor.

Just curious how does that work ? Is it based upon when the tractor is assembled at the dealer and sold ?

Equipment is not sold by model year rather then a model series. Like the L4600 for example is the prior model to the L4601.

The year the tractor was built is irrelevant, because they can sit on a dealers lot until sold. Which could be a year or two.

Like Eric said - year really is that important - some of them you can do the math by the serial number. Your model was sold from 2011 till now......
