is it coming down there like it is here, better than an inch an hour.
Oh what fun it will be digging out in the morning, Aye?
Super windy here too, yea I have a feeling it's going to be ugly in the morning, I hate trying to clear snow when it's windy! :(

Been clearing snow for the last 10 hours and I'm frigin old. Is there a doctor in the house?
I moved to a warmer climate. But when I lived up north the two doctors I visited regularly when it got cold were Dr. Jim Beam and Dr. Jack Daniels.
They new exactly what was needed to warm me up.

Winter kills...

My last winter in Illinois ('79), we had record cold after a blizzard. A snowplow driver was killed while plowing I-57. He came upon a 20 foot drift on the downwind side of an overpass. Inside that drift was a tractor trailer. The semi driver stopped because conditions were too bad and awoke to find he and his rig buried. The snow plow driver hit the semi at about 45mph and rescuers on scene dug the semi driver out.
County or Idot plows don't move anywhere near close to that speed. 25-30 tops.

Somebody must be reading the entire thread. TOMCAT hasn't been here for a couple of years. He was in Thailand, if I remember correctly.

one of the last posts from tomcat as I remember, he was getting ready to harvest cane. He was a pretty avid poster.

Have not waded out to the shop yet. I think we only got 7 maybe 8 inches. Just quit so I will wait till sunrise to clean it up. Snow pack is looking good.
Topping off the wells.

I went and blazed a trail for the wife to get out, about 8 inches, I'll need to blow the rest out a little later, as there is about a 4 foot berm on the sides now.

I got 7" last night. When I work up enough courage I'll go out and get started.
I heard a thump last night, and sure enough, a tree came down right next to one of my sheds out back. Looking out the dining room window I can't tell if it did any damage. Guess I'll go out and check a little later. The joys of living in the great Pacific northwest. :)

Funny, the farther east I go the colder it gets. Was 38 degrees in Amarillo tx when I left this morning. Currently in elk city Oklahoma and its 30 degrees. Checked the weather in Arkansas and its 23 degrees

We dropped about 250 trees (Lodge pole / jack pine) a few years ago just because of that, they don't hold up well under heavy snow and wind.
We still have plenty of trees and we keep planting more.
Doing a lot of western larch (tamarack), white pine, spruces, and hopefully will find some bigger blue spruces this year, missed out on a good sale last year.

No snow here today just freezing rain this morning
Hate that stuff skeets, maybe the highest on my hate scale. a good time to stay home and off the roads. Of coarse you could weave rope around the spokes of your Harley.
