No apology needed!
It's all good!
But who would of thought that the guy living in land of Very little, if any, Snow would have such a heated opinion on it? ;)
Now if the thread was "Dang it's hot"... I could see you being all over it! :p:D;)

Just wait for summer... I have an idea that will put a smile on a few formerly frozen faces... :)

Postal Service:mad:

You have to love unaccountable government bureaucracy. I was supposed to get some parts Monday in the mail. Checked tracking around 7:00am and it said out for delivery - this was during a snow storm. Around 5:15pm I checked the mail, nothing nada zip zilch. Checked the tracking # to see what happened. "Delivery attempted at 4:47pm. Package undeliverable because receptacle was blocked, left card notice".
You left a card notice in the box but could not leave my package? There wasn't any tire tracks, no foot prints and no card or anything else in the box. Between 4:30 and 5:00 I was in the kitchen where there is a window that looks out directly at the mail box about 700' away and did not see the mail person, was making dinner and watching for the mail because I needed the parts.

On line I scheduled it for delivery on Tuesday. Tuesday came and went without any mail or parts. Checked status on line again and found same B.S.! The mail box was clear I had even taken all the snow out from under it and for 2 tractor length on either side. Called the 800# and complained but they stuck to the BS that was listed on line. I did get 3 days worth of mail and my parts today.

Unaccountable government bureaucracy. Yours and my tax dollars at work.

NOW! who said " Let it snow!" I guess that a poor excuse for the USPS is better than no excuse at all.

What ever happened to:
"Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"

I notice they didn't mention laziness in there.

USPS salaries are derived from sales of stamps and services. NO tax dollars are involved. And the "gloom of night" quote is not an official motto but was made up by the firm that designed the NYC main post office.

Not really true, As they run in the red every year and the government helps them along, AKA our tax money at work. ;)

Don't even get me started on Government giveaways, the welfare system is a 100% complete joke!
Pay people to be lazy losers!

The cork from an adult beverage at my house said Brr on it. Really. The forecast discussion from the meteorologists at Grand Rapids on the NOAA page said " It is going to be cold. Really cold. Not quite Alaska cold, but a nod in that direction." -35 F wind chill. Not attractive weather for a cabless 'bota. Glad I don't live in Alaska.:D

The subsidies (tax $) are to cover the cost of free postage for the blind and official mail for voters outside the U.S. Running in the red is a result of deposits mandated by the CBO to offset future pension payments.
Back to the snow!
Speaking of snow, I'm still waiting for donations - it's around 30C in the shade! Just don't send it via the USPS:rolleyes:

Lucky dog!

When I got laid off from my job at the trailer shop, I was given a nice letter from the company so I could apply for unemployment. Lady at the gov't office asked me for my approval letter from the food stamp office ?!? I said I was applying for unemployment only. She said my claim would be denied unless I applied for food stamps. I followed her directions and was given $125 per week in "emergency" food stamps (2001 $) even though I was single and living alone! I did get $250 per week for unemployment;)

We roughly got about 6" of snow from this last storm. Tough to tell, the wind is blowing it everywhere.... The weather says 30 MPH winds, I don't have a wind speed monitor, but I would have to say it's blowing much harder.... It's so bad....it ripped my North Side storm window in half and tore it off the house! Good thing it's Plexiglass!

Snowblowing will not be fun :( may have to break out the old snowmobile helmet....

The frogs are waking up...5 to 6 weeks early...very little snow on ground and the norm here is 4 to 5 feet this time of year. Next week 40+ F during days and 28 to 30 F nights. The frogs will be a full bloom orchestra in a day or two.

Must be an anniversary present, 39 years and counting
