New to Kubota

Hello all.

I'm the new guy on the block, very excited! Just ordered my first Kubota tractor yesterday I live in town and maintain an apartment property in addition to our own home (with shop). I do snow removal in winter, grass and general maintenance/landscaping, etc. in summer, not to mention never ending shop/yard projects. The time and effort involved with push lawn mower and walk behind blower was getting to be too much and taking up valuable family time. After much research and consideration I had narrowed it down to JD 1 family and Kubota BX. I finally decided (or so I thought) on the BX 2370. I really like the compact size of the BX series over the JD, being in town I didn't want a Farm tractor look and couldn't resist Kubota's 0% financing and 5yrs power train warranty promotion.

I can't wait to get my new tractor however have been undecided over the weekend if I made the right decision on the 2370 model. I keep thinking about the BX25D with the backhoe feature..... I think it might come in handy if I had it, however would make due just fine without it, renting a mini ex when needed.

Looking for some feedback from others experience, more to settle my mind. I can't be the only one who went through this thought process..?

YOU have not gone wrong, that BX is a freaking workhorse, it will do anything you want it too, A N Y T H I N G.........now it might be a little slower than a B, L or M......but for a small footprint - you cannot go wrong. I have the BX25D and I love it, I wanted a hoe, didnt need a hoe, but damnit - for once in my life i got something that i wanted w/o anyone saying no..........

the hoe is great, but for about $7000 added to the price, not sure everyone agrees it is worth it - for me it is, others say rent. To each their own.

Once you think you have the old girl figured out - it will surprise you, then you will find OTHER things it can do.........

other things to consider .............
have you tires loaded, or do it yourself - only about 80# per rear, but worth it

get some spacers.....huge difference!!!!!!

and then get a toothbar for you bucket..........it will double your output on your bucket !

need help where to find any of this - just holler!

BX are great little tractors and more than once I've considered a BX25, but just can't justify the cost and just rent when needed. If I had greater needs for one, I'd buy it, but there are so many other things I can use the money for and get more use.

I don't have a BX but I have rented one. It is amazing what that little machine can do. Some people but a piranha tooth bar on the bucket and make it even more wicked.

One of the main reasons I went with a larger machine is I have large ruts in my yard and those front wheels would find lots of rotted stumps which could make running in my yard challenging.

I will take loading and spacers this into consideration after some time in the drivers seat (for comparison purposes). I'm already eyeing up the Bxpanded piranha tooth for it

I ordered the Kubota LED lighting package for it, front mount 2750D blower pkg, 54" MMM, soft cab and the FEL package already

This is exactly what I decided on when I had walked into the dealership and placed my order yesterday... but for some reason its still nagging at me in the back of my mind. I know I will use the back hoe if I have it, likely over the years it pay for itself... but yes its around $5000 right now that I don't have to spend......... (all the xtra's I already ordered added up too). I just don't want to regret not getting the BH and cost me far more down the road to sell and upgrade.

I love my bx25d . For me the backhoe was the main reason I bought mine . I have 220 hours on mine all ready and I would bet half of those were spent on the hoe. I use it for cutting firewood (mechanical thumb is a huge help). Also for removing stumps and clearing trees . Have done a couple of trenching jobs for a excavator too . But having a backhoe is an expensive option , you need enough work to justify the cost . What everyone says about these machines are true , mine never ceases to amaze me .

Welcome. I have a BX for city lot and find it works great. Mainly for snow plowing I use a rear blade. Where I have to plow snow off a lawn, I push backwards with the blade facing forward so as to not dig in. The rear direction pushes down toward the cutting edge. On rare occasion I use the bucket, but mainly for shoving back snow piles to make a place for storing more. Rear blade is 5' and I use the harbor Freight quick hitch. Check the distance between pin mounts on any blade (27").

With the belly mower in summer, it really is too big for a small lot, so I also volunteer mowing for the city park near me. Also plowing out the driveways for a couple of widows gets a few remarks from friends, ha. When the snow gets deep, your buddies with snow blowers will do some wishing, I bet.

The only two complaints I have are these. The control of the three point is crude, not like larger tractors. However it works OK for snow plowing but is difficult for fine earth grading. I see no need for a back-hoe considering the cost difference for rental.

The other problem is probably my fault with fuel sitting in the tank and probably growing bacteria and plugging the fuel filters quite often (once a year). My two larger blue tractors, many years old, have never had fuel filters clog. These BX fuel filters are very fine

So now I am starting a fuel "poisoning" treatment and I hope that fixes things. My funnel has very fine screen, such that even water will not pass, so I think the bacteria thing is the culprit. The stuff I bought is Stabl's "Diesel bioside". 1/4 oz will treat a full 5 gallons, but I have heard for really bad problem, use double or triple that the first tank full.

For snow plowing I have chains on the rear tires. Keep 'em tight, since the fuel tank is just above that area.

Yep you wont to bad with the BX,, like everyone says myself included, these little beasts will work like hell and come back for more,, A FEL might be a good deal if you can get it for the right price, don't forget to fill the rear tires or wheel weights if you go that route,,
A BH on the other hand unless your doing a lot of BH work is a bunch of dosh for something you might use once in a blue moon,,
Ya need a BH rent one for the weekend it will be a lot cheaper and you don't have to worry about storing it. I will add this however, you will run out of traction long before you run out of power on these little beastys Just MHO

Noting Skeets comment about rear weight, for a FEL. Well, I have not had that need, since each time I have used the FEL with some weight in it either the belly mower was on or a rear blade.

I did order a FEL with mine., the loader package comes with a ballast box for counter weight and grill guard. I will inquire with the dealer when it arrives to have the rear tires filled as you mention, seems to be one of those upgrades that makes a world of difference.

Thanks for the tip on fuel filter plugging. Mine will see enough use this shouldn't be a problem but if/when it fails to start, that will be the first place to look

i to am new to tractors and this Forum. This is only my second post. I am in the process of refiancing our home and want to get a B2620 w/MMM and FEL. Today took another step toward signing the papers for the loan. I have waited about 4 years now to get a tractor like this and am very anious to order my tractor, they even have it in stock. I was beginning to believe that I wouldn,t be able to get a sub-compact tractor , I was considering a garden tractor, but I'm glad I waited. Good things do come true if your willing to wait... After signing the papers it will be another 3 days before the funds will be available, so another game of waiting, but at that time I can at least let the dealer know to get the tractor ready. I'm hoping that next week .... MAYBE... I just might get my tractor. good luck with the new tractor

You should fill the tires. These little monsters will pick up more than the rear end can handle. Meaning, be careful. The rear of the tractor will come off the ground. Just know when to let go when it happens. If this is the one you chose, have fun. We all did.

After two weeks of debate (lol, countless sleepness nights), I think we are leaning towards the BX25D now... This is a long term purchase that will eventually pay for itself over and over. Hopefully the bank feels the same way

Hi Leyland... I live in upstate NY. I live in a small rual community.But I haven't actually got the tractor as yet? I am in the process of refiancing my home and I am going to use part of the money to get the tractor. I hope the bank calls tomorrow to let us know the closing date... hopefully this week. Once that happens 3 days after that I can get the money and order the tractor at that time.

Well its official, our new Kubota is on its way
After two weeks of debate we decided on the BX25D over the BX2370. It was a hard decision driving the monthly payments up, but in the long run I don't think we will regret it. The backhoe feature will be used on our upcoming landscape projects and will always provide for the option of additional income doing side jobs.

Dealer said it will be ready early next week, maybe later this week if the shop can slide it in. Cant wait!

You will want some weight on the 3 point hitch to counterweight the heavy bales even with loaded tires. Use a weight box or put a blade on it, otherwise you will find the back end too light.

It's a great day, first major snow storm of the year and my new BX25 was delivered this afternoon

The snow blower, LED lights and soft cab are yet to arrive but the dealer thought I would like to use the loader to clear snow and play around. Roberts Farm Supply in Mount Forest has been great through the whole sale, I couldn't be happier with their service! Dealer said he will pick up the bare tractor in a week or two and have the winter accessories installed, return it when done

I played around for almost two hours with the loader cleaning snow, was a ton of fun.. Cold fun, but fun!
My youngest was maybe more excited than I was
