What I have so far is the start and in the middle photos oh a huge driveway grading and repair job I'm doing for a customer. I have 24 tons of stone showing up tomorrow and I'll be back at it again in the am and the finished photos to come tomorrow evening. YEAH my lil B6100 is going to be crying when I move 24 tons of stone and no FEL.

I'm just wondering but how do you calculate how much of the stone you will need for the given area????

I'd like to have a trailer like that

First you need a REALL BIG tape measure LOL or just a simple measureing wheel will do the trick. That particular driveway was a bit tricky to figure out. It has 2 horse shoe shaped drives and then one long drive to the back. I took the measureing wheel and walked from one end to the other up the middle a few times to make sure I had the right number. It was 90 feet long from end to end. And was 12 feet wide. I repeted the steps for both the horse shoe shaped drives and then did one long meansurement for the back drive. Making sure not to overlap the marks. Its really not all that hard.

Good god that trailer is 11 years old. And a custom made tool box on the front I keep all my hand held power tools in and the non powerd tools in as well. That things kinda over loads and kills my tongue weight. The trailer is a 6x16 and has been loaded to the max more then once. Which is only 7 thousand pounds. I've had as little as my tractor all the way up to a Chevy Suburban on her.

Ya I really like that trailer. That is just about the right size for me. The one I have I built for the B7200. But it will only hold one tractor. Good little trailer but too small. So are you finished that job or is there more to go? Dusty Sorry just looked back and answered my own question.

Thanks fellas. I've got 24 tons of stone to spread out in the morning. Which will really test the limits of my lil B6100. I'll post the final pics tomorrow evening if Im still nimble enough to move.

Ya Scott it didn't stop real short. I only hauled it once for about five miles. I am used to hauling bale wagons two at a time so its just a matter of being aware of your surroundings. Its a farm community so you get away with stuff like that as long as you don't do stupid things like going into town with it. Or hauling it at 50 mph. That was a dandy truck I sure miss it. Dusty

The one ton dually GMC I have now has a 454 big block 10,000 lb springs and 10,000 lb rubber suspension added and it has never carried a heavier load than that ford. I installed air springs out of a tractor trailer in it and it would take anything shy of flattening the tires. Sure miss that truck. Dusty

That truck was really a big rig with it's capabilities. I bet a lot of people jaw dropped when the would see how much you could pull.

Well kids here it is. The completion of the job. DAMN it liked to have killed me to. I didnt take me bout an hour and a half maybe 2 hours to knock the piles of gravel down. But it took me all damn day to fine grade the gravel out. Once the rock covered up the dirt and the tractor rode on top I had a hard time keeping traction. Tires would spin alright, all the way down to the dirt. Finally I had enough I came home and hooked to my dad's 6ft grading box which did the trick to finish up. His has a hinged backblade which makes final grading SWEET.

I had a lot of fun with that truck. Made a bit of money with it too. Hauling cement crew and forms and such. All farm work manure pits bunker silos barn foundations. lots of mud spring and fall. Kind of turned some heads when i showed up to pic up the guys and it had turned into a 4x4. Anyway I was hoping Eric would have some more pics for us tonight. Hope he didn't work himself too hard today. Dusty

Wow Eric you sure know how to work that box blade. Thats a lot of work.Your tractor earned its keep today. I would tackle a job like that but I would allow myself a week to do it. That place sure looks a lot better now. On another topic I not only want your trailer but I want your truck too. Late 80's 3/4 ton? It looks in great shape. By the way I would guess that you earned your keep today too. Dusty

Thanks! The truck is my dads I'm using it until I can get me another one. Mine was repoed back in Janurary. Its a 88 Chevy C30 crew cab one ton and on its 3RD motor as of a few weeks ago. She looks great far away. Up close the paint job is from Wal-mart either brushed, rolled or spry painted on. Thats my dad for ya!

Well your Dad and I would get along great. That old ford of mine was on engine number 4 when I finally put it down. Up here the road salt just eats the body. Your dads truck and your trailer still make a nice lookin unit goin down the road. There are a lot of people who would not tackle that job with just that little tractor. You got a set of stones for sure. Did good work too. Dusty
