I've got an L3800 HST. I just hit 50 hours and it is due for it's first service. I'm trying to schedule a time the dealer can come pick it up. It may be a while before they can get up my way. Should I just let the tractor sit or can I continue to use it as normal? What say ye

I don't think your tractor is going to turn into a pumpkin (though it is already orange) at 51 hours if that's what you're worried about.

The longer you run it with the original filters and such, the more 'junk' builds up so it does more damage and it might start acting funny, so 50hrs is just a place where you should say "Hey, I need to stop and change those filters for the first time" along with the rest of the stuff on the checklist.

If you do it at 55 hours, I doubt you are going to void your warranty.

While advisable, there is nothing magical about the 50 or other hour marker, my service light has come on in the middle of a job and while we do our own service, the job had to be finished, so I finished up before changing everything out. You won't see a farmer shut his rig down in the middle of a field to get it serviced and their machines are a lot more expensive and complicated than ours. I grew up farming and we own tractors made in the 50s, 60s etc.

I know a man that has not changed his hydraulic filter ( so he thinks ) on a B7200 ( 85 model) .....saw that it has 2000+ hours on it .......

never filters his diesel, greases every now and again...........

runs like a champ.

that 50 hours is a recommendation ........55 aint gonna hurt a bit.......
