I just noticed today that I have two different size front tires. Bought new from the dealer. I put 49 hours on. The right side is 8.3-16, which is correct for a L4400, 4WD. The left side is a 7-16 which belongs on a L3400, 4WD. Can having two different size front tires do any damage to the 4WD or anything else? Maybe a dumb question, but I'm new.

Not a dumb question at all........the rolling circumferences are different!!!!

I would call the dealer, see if they will switch the one out.......... 49 hours, only the little nubs are worn off!:D

I would not place it in 4wd drive unless I was on gravel or grass.....I would not place it in 4wd on something hard, then again that is true all of the time.

If you have a front bucket - it ought to scoop funny too!:D

I called the dealer. The guy that answered the phone took the information and said somebody will get back to me. We'll see. I'll post when I find out.
I never would have thought that would be something you'd have to check when buying brand new. Makes me wonder what other surprises are in store.

One of several things happened......
placed one tire on, got distracted .......then grabbed another wrong tire....

DID NOT have have two, placed the closest he had on it!!

Most of the time, a tire guy goes in the back and pulls all the tires he has for the application..........

but i would take the tire off (if you have a bucket, will be easy!) and then take it to them, or MAKE them come to you !!!!:D

In addition to the difference in diameter/RC, the 8.3x16 tire has a higher load rating, which is important with a FEL. I'm sure the dealer will swap the right tire for you.

I should have updated this sooner, but boy, did the time get away from me! I contacted Kubota corporate office. They were none too pleased about the situation. They had the dealer come to my place with a new tire AND they serviced my tractor, oil change/etc, no charge. In other words, they made it right.
