Has anyone here actually done a complete rebuild of the Z650 kubota engine? Thats the B7000 motor. Id like someone with first hand experience to tell me any particular difficulties they might have had or things to watch out for. Also, where can I find the governor springs? Not a kubota dealer thats for sure.

I searched around a couple of years ago for grins and giggles and found some rebuild kits. As I remember they were quite reasonable but a search again finds very little.

Have you seen this thread???

There is not much difference in the Z650 and Z750 that I built. I am loving this new power too. It feels like a whole new tractor since the build back.

I wish they were still around. I have had a very hard time finding the right parts. My kubota dealer checked the numbers I sent her from the original parts book and many numbers superceded to new ones but the parts are not correct according to the photos. Oil pump for example..original 15241-32112 goes to 17331-35013. Sent a photo from the parts book and she said it was nothing like that pictured.

What happened to your old govenor start springs? I see spring #1 listed as 15221-56480, and it's a good part number, the other spring, 15241-56412 doesn't come up, but I think you'll find 15371-56410 to be a change-up part number.
My 15221-56480 spring is the one thats messed up the other looks ok but I want to change them both. The kubota dealer stretched it while disassembling the engine. Im taking the whole mess back and doing it myself. The overall problem is finding accurate superceded parts numbers. Timing cover gasket 15241-04132 goes to 15222-04130, for example. Thats a gasket for an L245 or L2201. Yanibiz has a photo of it and its not the same as the z650.
