So I did my first full service on my (new to me) 2013 L3940.
Had a VERY difficult time getting the HST filter off. Dang.

Anyway, I ended up breaking the knob off the the fuel purge. It's all back together, and I could probably make due just fine with it the way it is, but I don't work like that.

Anyway, it's the hand-knob, nut, and seat of some sort. Also an oring.

Can I get a PN?
Any place online I can pick this up? My dealer is a half hour away.

Thanks,
Andy

Is this what you need?

#80 Assy Cock, Jet start 14311-60504 $17.61

#23 Screw 15471-51320 $9.89

They call out 2 different part #'s for the washers which is odd, but for the price I would just buy 2 of each then you'll have the right one.

#25 Washer 15401-96650 $1.49

#25 Washer 70000-65259 $.52

If the purge you are talking about is on the side of the injection pump then yes 80 is the "needle", it's called a cock.

#80 it shall be. Thanks Wolfman.

Maybe you can also explain that thing to me. Mine didn't spin, and I spun the knob off the top. Directions just said loosen. So do I loosen the nut under it and then loosen the knob? I assume that loosening that just gives the air a place to get out and gravity feeds fuel to the system up to that point. To me, it seemed as though the oring was engaged at all times, unless I took it right out (which I also did).

Anyway, I'll get one of those on order. Maybe I'll fix it at my next service (or if I ever run out of fuel--which I make sure NOT to).

I have had 2 of those break off. If you loosen part number 23 slightly before you turn the nob, it will release. Be sure to re tighten that fitting. The knobs are more fragile that one would ever expect. It only takes a relatively small amount of turning to break it. I remember the part being less than 20 bucks. If the stem is sticking out, a pair of pliers will work just fine.

yeah, $17.
Glad to know I'm not the only one.
Yup, vice grips finished out the job.

Just a hint, tractor won't run when you forget to turn the fuel back on.

My garage looks like an oil slick, but I got all the fluids changed. Need to run to wally world and dump off MANY gallons of oil.

Swing by Home depot and pick up some Zep purple cleaner, it will clean the oil and grease right off of the concrete and you'll never know you did it! ;)
