gravity or weight, unless you got a 3 point we dont know about !

you would have to "reverse" or add another port to the hydraulics, I am sure it can be done, but I have never seen it.

I think that most of the better name implement companies have a down force kit for their 3pt PHD. I have one on my Land Pride PD35. It works very very well. Here is a link to their manual for it. and a few pictures of mine.
