Anyone have a idea of the time it takes (flat rate?) to replace the engine oil pan on a L3200HST?

Thanks, David

Looks like around 4.9 hours, there maybe more time involved for cleanup or issues with removal.

I loaned it out and the guy did not take my word of wisdom that it was not a off road vehicle ---- and ran over a metal fence pole that had a curve on one end & the tire flipped it up and punched a hole in the pan.

<sigh> I have it off, just need to get a replacement.

Closing the loop so to speak.

It took about a hour to drop the 4wd gearbox with driveshaft and the oil pan.

Not much on the way of parts other than the oil pan, a gasket for the 4wd gearbox and a couple of o/r's and small sealing washers. Of course I had to change the transmission oil, so it all added up to just under $420 in parts.

Went together in about 2-1/2 hours, not really a bad job, and by taking the four bolts out holding the 4wd gearbox on that allowed removal of the driveshaft and it as one piece, didn't have to remove any roll pins or disconnect anything else other than the 4wd shift rod (one cotter pin)

Had to paint the oil pan, surprised me a little bit as most of the marine parts I now deal with from Japan come pre-painted.

Back to good shape, ran it all weekend, no leaks, no issues.

BTW - no oil pan gasket is used, only RTV. Only gasket used was for the 4wd gearbox. That was factory installed with RTV as well, I would imagine that in the next year or two, that gasket will be gone as well, but I did replace it to maintain the proper factory gear lash, otherwise I would have just used RTV.
