on the b6000 i,ve got 6-12 ags on the front, will 12.4 -16 be too big for the rears, if so , is it the height or the width or both.

I don't know the answer. BUT is your tractor 4WD? If so, as was mentioned somewhere in this forum, what you do to the back you will have to do to the front. The tire diameter ratio's have to be the same.

If it's 2WD then the only concerns would be, as you mentioned, clearence AND power from the engine to turn bigger tires under load could be an issue.

If you're plowing a field in low gear now with just the right amount of power to keep her going then those bigger tires will not do it for you.

Though, you will hall ass in high gear without any load.

Well this is what I have seen.
Front: 4 - 9
Rear: 7 - 16
Anything over and under might stress tractor.

My B6100E has 8-16's on the rear and they work just fine.
