Anyone have any luck pounding or popping out a dent on the hood? Or do I leave it for a dent specialist..in which case, I would need to know how to take off the hood.

I too dented my hood about 2 hours into owning my new BX, the way the hood is made, it is hard to get to my dent from the underside. Mine is a bout the size of a dime, almost hard to "See" - where is yours? Can you send a picture? Someone with your tractor may be able to help.

Dry ice will pop out dimple dents, as long as they are not creased.
Just put the hood in the sun and then wearing a pair of winter gloves put the dry ice on the dent.

Thanks for the input. My dent is about the size of a dinner plate! should I still try the dry ice technique?
There's a guy in my area that does paintless dent removal. He works from home and has a rout to local car lots. He fixed a friend of mines truck with hail damage. You couldn't tell it had ever had anything wrong after he was done. Maybe you have something or someone like that near you.

Every dent I've ever put in a tractor hood came from dumping the FEL bucket over backwards, generally going up an incline to dump the bucket on a pile. Personally, lifting the bucket, climbing the mound, and tilting the bucket ahead are two too many things for me to do at once.
If that is what you did, or even if it wasn't, I'd leave it for a while until I quit doing whatever I did wrong. Then, I'd consider whether to leave it, remove the hood and pop it back out - probably leaving a small crease or two - or have it professionally fixed or replaced.
If there is something sturdy beneath the dent, I (no, I'm not a professional body man) would probably put a deflated basketball between the dent and the sturdy, and inflate the basketball until something happens.

My L3600 came with a creased dent in the hood when I bought it, I left it through the Winter but when I tore the Tractor apart to dump all the fluids, I removed the hood by taking out the 4 bolts..
Using a Stick, Sledge Hammer, and a 1" Rubber Mallet while resting the hood on an old carpet in the grass I removed 90% of the problem
If it had been a new Tractor I might have had the "Dent Doctor" work on it, but I just wanted the hood, Side panels and front panel to close straight and tight...

I bent my bucket and the dealer said it wasn't covered under warranty but that the insurance would cover it. He also said to wait until I have more than one thing that needs to be covered, as the deductible would only be $250 "I think" no matter how many claims I turn in at once. I may or may not do this, the bucket still functions fine, it will probably depend on how many other things I break before I have it paid off.
Anyway, show us a pic of the damage, sounds like you got some good advise from the other fellas on how to fix it.

Thanks again all of you. I just knew someone was going to ask me how it happened. I was crossing a low water crossing that is down a steep hill and my FEL was overfilled with log rounds and I had to put it up higher for clearance and.... the top log fell out the back side onto the hood. Those first dents are always hard...but I only have 75 hours on my beautiful pristine tractor. I feel a little better knowing that I'm not the first person to do this!
I really appreciate all the advice. I am going to try the techniques listed and if that doesn't work, I will see the dent guy. I already called the local guy that works for all of our local car dealers and he said he would look at it (I'd have to take the hood off and bring it to town). He said he has never worked on a tractor dent before. I think he should do it just to get the experience don't you?

OH NO your not the first... I just about rolled a 1000Lb stump onto my hood about 4 hours ago, that would have left a dent!
If you pull the hood and can see the dent from the back side then do like gssixgun just lay it down and use a log to pop it back out.
You'll never get it 100%, if you want that take it to a body shop, but have your credit card ready those guys aren't cheap!
There are days when I'm glad I don't have a shiny new tractor! I'm too rough on my Kubota!

Well you could take it off I think theres either 4 or 6 bolts that hole it on flip it over and use a rubber hammer and keep tapping at it until something happens,,, I mean if your gona take it him and have him fix it and way, you might as well play a bit before hand,, I mean how much worse can you mess it up,,,LMAO No the first ones are the hardest no doubt but what you did was no worse than tossing a hammer up in to the rafters in the garage and your brother missing it and landing claws first on the hood,, That made me go have another adult beverage and contemplate the meaning of AHHHHHH F(**&*&(@
