. . . In Lumberton, NC . . especially Brenda the Manager and Richard in the service dept.

I purchased a used, as is, 73" Caroni Flail Mower from them sight unseen. It was a customer return that appears to have never been used, just sat in the sun fading since 2009. It was faded and had a few "Character Marks" from being shuttled around the yard there for 5 years . . . Brenda had some one take a bunch of pics and emailed them to me. After seeing the pics I called and asked Richard in service to hook it up to a tractor and run it then call me back and report his findings. He graciously did so. He said that in his opinion the mower had never been run before he set it up and actually ran it. He also stated that the PTO shield on the tractor end of the PTO shaft was missing and that the collar for it was broken. I was OK with that because I could get a new collar and shield locally.

So I pulled the trigger on it. It showed up 3 days later and I was not disappointed in my purchase. $500 plus $240 shipping to Chairman Cuomo's Peoples Republic of New Yorkistan.

On Saturday I had time to set up the PTO shaft to get the measurements to cut it to the proper length . . I found that the universal joint on the implement end was binding a bit. I called Agri Supply in Lumberton this AM to order a new cross for the u-joint and the collar and shield. Brenda picked up the phone and after explaining to her what I needed she handed me over to Richard and assured me Richard would help me out. After explaining what I needed to Richard, he told me how to find the stamping on the yoke to determine the cross I needed, then I gave him the part numbers for the collar and shield. Richard asked me if I could hold for a moment. When he came back on the phone he said "Mr Logan, we are going just ship you a whole new PTO shaft". I explained that I was prepared to purchase the parts and repair it myself but he insisted.

Now that is good customer service. I will be doing business with them again.

Thanks for the input. I've purchased several items from them, where their price plus shipping was still way better than my local options.

UPDATE:

I just got an apologetic phone call from Richard. He indicated that Brenda, the store manager nixed the replacement PTO shaft because she sold me the mower "as is". OK. I have to hand it to Richard, that was a tough phone call to make. Just a misunderstanding.

Well I was prepared to buy a new cross anyway. $23.95 plus shipping.

Overall, still a positive experience.

The fact that he had enough respect to call you and let you know is worth a lot.
That's why I'm pretty d"** sour with John Deere. I'm not a millionaire 6000 acre farmer or even 10% but I'm respectful and work hard for my money. Kubota dealers that I've spoken actually seem to be happy I'm in their store. It's blown my mind for this brand. I'm glad you had a good experience though. Nice mower btw

I have ordered from Agi Supply before and had great results. Was told about them by a friend who orders a lot of things from them.

Yes Sir, I agree 100%. I am sure he was prepared for a PO'd maroon to be shouting at him!!

My Kubota dealer is awesome, White's Farm Supply in Canastota, NY. They quoted me an L3800 HST with FEL. Then I had them quote the backhoe separately because I couldn't do the whole nut at once (payed cash). Then literally one day before I pulled the trigger on the new tractor I found a used 2012 L3800 HST with FEL at the local Kioti dealer who just wanted it off his lot, NOW. Was a trade in on a used JD Tree Harvester. Did not want it on the lot competing with his Kiotis. It had 11 hours on it . . the paint wasn't even scratched on the loader bucket . . it was on it's second tank of diesel . . literally. I got it for almost $4k less than the Kubota dealers quote. I called my Kubota salesman out of respect to let him know that I bought the used one. His responce; "You did the right thing Doug. If you bought the new one off the lot here . . when it got to 11 hours you would be wishing you bought the used one".

They were disappointed but they still honored the quote for the backhoe 2 months later even though it was quoted as a package deal. Plus the salesman threw in two cans of grey and orange Kubota paint and two gallons of Super UDT2 with the backhoe.

In contrast, I spoke several times with the local Green and Blue dealers and just could not connect with them . . . The Kubota dealer here was friendly and accommodating. They actually listened to what I needed and steered me through the decision process. And took the time to answer a lot of "n00b" questions on the phone . . I was calling the salesman or service manager with questions several times a week for several months . .

. . . and then I buy the tractor from the Kioti dealer up the road a couple miles.

And they STILL treated me like their best customer.
