Stephen King? Handwriting looks a lot like the author was a good student of Peterson Method we were taught back in the 50's.

I used to live on a State highway, and at night the trucks would come barreling down the hill in front of my home. I got the idea that I would park my van parallel to the roadway on my lawn near the curb. I took a tomato juice can riveted an aluminum bracket to it and hung it on the driver's side of the side roll-down window. It looked just like a radar unit. In the morning I would take it off, however, one morning I was running late and forgot about it. The cars that were passing alongside me on the interstate kept looking at me as they passed. When I realized why, I pulled over to the side of the road and took it off.
