Wolfman - so sorry for your loss of Taya.

It’s so hard to lose them.

RIP our lovely and super sweet Taya.
She had been with us for 13 years.
It is a huge loss to us, but we are so glad to have rescued her!
We will miss her dearly.

This was her being movie star!

I really don’t have the words. That’s upsetting. We’ve lost more than one within a day or so of the holiday. Do you best around the holidays. Good luck.

Some the 'pets' that have adopted us. There are four of 'em below. At least some of them are still around? But not for a family photo like this:

Amazing. See date is June 2023, but holy smokes.

I’ve never seen a lion in person, although rumor has there is a small population in the region.

To capture 4 in a single game camera photo is amazing. 👍

Yeah, I was thinking mountain lion.

Maybe regional nomenclature east/west?

They do have a lot of names for what I think is all the same species. Wildlife Biology classes were too long ago.

if I recall correctly “panthers” in the southeast are same species as well, although some of those can be black in color. Still same critter if my memory serves….

The only cougar I've seen didn't have that much fur. Equally dangerous though 😬😬😬😬
There’s Waaay too much imgined “fear” of cougars, IMO.

Our little boy... He's had a rough year. TPLO surgery in May. Recovered from that, then he got GDV suddenly when we got home from a Thanksgiving weekend hiking trip on the Superior Hiking Trail in MN. Emergency surgery for that he's mostly recovered from. wishing the pooch a healthy run from here on Niki_10_32! I have a weakness for GS - my 1st dog when I was a kid.

You are correct. They don't want ANYTHING to do with two legged creatures. In all our years in the forest they will be long gone before you ever get in the area. The bears too.

But if they hit you it will be from behind and it will be quick. Don't worry, it will be fast. They are here. But twisting your ankle is actually more of a problem.

But the wolves that have been introduced. I have a problem there....

I could buy every single toy in a pet store but Sako always has the most fun playing with old ropes with knots in it. Hopefully the zoomie stage will end soon!
