    Reviving a G1900

Rear wheels After doing the front wheels, the rear wheels looked really shabby and were very rusty. Taking the tyres off both had tubes in them, as expected. Straightening the dented edges first. Then the usual corrosion treatment with CSD disk, sandblasting, phosphoric acid. Then two...

    U-joint dimensions question

Yes, that is correct and that makes sense. Trouble is a lot of vendors have outside dimensions for inside snap rings. That's what confused me.

    U-joint dimensions question

No, the ones in the rear wheels drive shafts. Kubota number is 66111-46240 I believe. I think I found one for a Nissan, that's why I asked the original question. I ordered a few of them ($7 each), with 25x44mm they should fit, 44mm could not be an outside dimension. But thanks for the other...

    G1900S rear wheel studs question

So here the result: I did turn the studs around, as Sawdust&Shavings had suggested. I also put counter nuts on the back so that the studs won't come out when taking the wheel nuts off. There is plenty of clearance at the back as you can see here: Wheel nuts flush with the studs on the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Put all my refurbished rear axle steering parts back in. No wobbly rear wheels any more. And they match the front wheels now. Only the rest of the tractor is pretty rusty, but that is for another day. Cut the grass and it drives much better now.

    U-joint dimensions question

I only picked that as a random example. I need u-joints for the wheel drives of my G1900. Kubota wants over $100 for one which is out of question. Your example showing both dimensions is actually a perfect way doing it.

    U-joint dimensions question

I did read it correctly. But Dustballs first example clearly shows internal snap rings, yet the dimensions "B" are to the outside.

    U-joint dimensions question

No, it is not. In Dustballs first example there are inside clip rings shown, yet the dimensions are draw to the outside. That makes no sense. What you say makes sense that always snap ring dimensions should be used.

    U-joint dimensions question

Hmmm... it seems every manufacturer does as they please. Measuring on the outside when having inside clips does not make a lot of sense to me because it does not matter it the outside is another 2 or 3mm wider. On the inside it would matter though. I found those for example: Seems the same...

    U-joint dimensions question

Hello, I did a bit of searching already but strangely enough could not find a definitive answer. Am i right in the assumption that the size of a u-joint with internal clip rings is the inside width of the yoke and with u-joints with external clip rings the dimension is the overall width of...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

After sand blasting, acid treatment and two primer coats today finally the top coat for my rear axle steering parts and thanks to the nice weather thermonuclear accelerated paint hardening. Thrust bearings and wheel bearings still stuck in the post somewhere but a few extra days for the paint...

    Reviving a G1900

Rear wheel steering linkage ball joints (rod ties) I have the rear axle steering apart because I had to do something about the appearance of the rims (spreading muck on the freshly painted front wheels as somebody suggested here was not really an option :giggle:) and the excessive play and...

    L4200 4wd front axle bearings

Tapered "cylindrical" roller bearings like the ones used on cars can take axial forces. I would not apply major axial forces on the cylindrical bearings in the picture in your post #3. See for example https://www.skf.com/group/products/rolling-bearings/roller-bearings/tapered-roller-bearings...
