I have tried everything I know to do. I am not new to tractors. Went forward backwards, turned wheels, lift front end off ground. New kubota 6000----- I guess the next thing will be to lift rear end off ground

Try changing the drive mode to N if that is an option. Don't forget to use the brakes if you switch to N. Otherwise, you might roll.

Some times, if you just put light pressure on the tram while you are trying to get out of 4WD it works,, only light pressure on the tram or it could be frozen linkage

It sounds like you are trying the usual fixes. On my New Holland shuttle, I'll put push the clutch in while I'm still going forward and pull up on the handle. Also, my lever is kind of stiff. I need to pull up on the handle sharply (give it a snap).

Mine to get out of 4wd you push down and I don't want to break something. The dealer is coming out to look at it first of next week. If he can't get it out they will take it to the shop. I do have a good dealer

I hope it is something simple to fix. It does look quite uncomplicated looking at the diagram. They came out and looked at it and it seems it will be going to the shop. For some reason that gear just doesn't want to disengage. Thanks for the diagram

rats, cause the drawing shows it's pretty simple, I was hoping for a SIMPLE fix....

it sounds like the gear is 'jammed'. I know my BX23s you have to 'go the other way' to release the 'wind up tension' but you've already done that....

sorry, my bag of straws is empty.

when it's fixed, please post WHAT they did, I'm sure everyone here would like to know.

Well, I was wrong. I thought they would find the right "touch" on site.

I owned an MX6000HST for a year and a little over 100 hours and have had the current MX6000HSTC for three years and close to 250 hours and have never had the issue described. It can be annoying when trying to engage or disengage 4WD, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why it ranges from really easy to a bit of a struggle. As a point of comparison, it couldn't be easier with the M6060 which engages/disengages via a lever to the left that is either up or down, and there's a 4WD light on the dash too! 😂

I typically roll the tractor either forward or backwards a bit while gently applying pressure to the 4WD lever, applying more pressure as the tractor stops moving and that typically works for me. For the most part it takes a few seconds, but occasionally I have to push down on the brake, let up, roll forward/back. Looking at the owner's manual, there's a note that states ...

"If the front-wheel-drive-lever is difficult to set to "OFF", stop the tractor, turn the steering wheel, and move the front-wheel-drive lever. "

Interesting that the advice is to "turn the steering wheel" ... something I've never tried while messing with the 4WD lever.

Just to be sure. Are you putting pressure on the lever while turning/backing up etc.?
