At a tad over 10 hours, so I greased the FEL points on the B2601.

One of the zerks behind the "swift tach" label is loose. I have not had to mess with zerks in absolutely eons. Should I try turning it the approximately little more than 3/4 turn to get it in the right location? Can I take it out and put a washer under the wrench flats? I greased it by turning it to straight down, but it wants at least another 1/4 turn to be tight, and then you cannot get the grease gun onto it. Maybe some teflon tape will make it tighten up almost where it is?

Have to lift the FEL to not stand on ones head to grease these 2 zerks.

I have had to "move" a zerk to get the ol Lock-n-lube on it and then "moved" it back to be tight.

Not sure if the washer trick will work - that zerk needs to get those threads locked in good and that taper may be affected by the washer - but it never hurts to try it.

I would try swapping the fittings between like ones on the tractor till you find a combo that works. If that fails, buy some at a hardware store and try again. Whatever you do, do not tighten so much that the threads may strip.

A zerk does not have to be tight to take grease, and as long as it is the position where you can grease it, it should be fine. I had a 90 degree fitting on my rotary cutter PTO shaft that I had to loosen a bit to grease as I could not make the angle. I would then tighten it back with a wrench after greasing. I finally got tired of doing that and left it in the loosened position where I could get to it. Even on a PTO, the zerk has not moved.

Hmm. That's where I am now. May just leave it. Don't want to try tightening and then break it off.
