I dont get many hits when I search for ZL1501, so I have a question:

Does a ZL1501 = L1501 = L185?

The hood on the tractor is definitely Zen Noh ZL1501. Just wondering if it is just an older model of the L1501?

Thanks Daren, I read the whole story, which was very interesting by the way.
I seemed to have skipped over:

"Often a Z prefix was added to the existing Kubota model number identifier making an L1501 into a ZL1501 tractor. "

I'm assuming that the L185 model doesnt come into play with my tractor - I need to always use L1501 parts?

Thanks!

Motor parts are the same as an l185. Same with the lifting arms for the three point hitch. And most of the control arm levers and seals. Where it's a little vague is the guts for the transmission. A lot of the l185 parts will cross over and work. But some parts may be out of an l225 or another model.

I've got the manuals for the l185, l1501, and a Japanese only version that has the l1501, 1801, and I believe the 2201 in it. All three of the Grey's share quite a few of the same parts for the transmission and rear end. And in fact any motor on those three tractors will bolt up to the same transmission.

Just for fun, L185 engine = L175. Z750 kubota engine. That would expand parts search. Body parts wouldnt cross over, but everything under the hood should....

Ironically my Bride is watching the Worlds Women Curling Championship and the sponsor in the house is Zen Hoh!

I watch orange tractor sites and she watches curling?

I guess we do it together?
