Hello and thanks so much for reading. For the past year or so, the ZD331 would randomly not start and I was never able to identify which safety switch was the cause. I got around the issue by hot wiring it. Yesterday, it exhibited new behaviors - it died while idling - twice, when moving a hose reel and once when I stopped to speak to someone. I can't recall for sure if the parking brake was on - but i doubt it as it was a level surface. It then died a third time when i was finished mowing and was doing cleanup before putting the mower away. This time it would not restart with the key.
I hoped it was heat related and would start in the morning, but no. It would not start by the key and upon hot-wiring, it immediately dies when engaging the steering handles. Has anyone ran into this? Perhaps the brake switch is stuck in the on position? I'm not good at diagnosing electrical components. The motor is not sputtering or anything like if it was a fuel related issue.
Thanks again for any feedback.
