My zd326 overheated today and the alarm went off. After shutting it down to cool off it now won't crank. My gauge lights work, but there is not any kind of clicking sound at the starter. Thanks for any help, first post here.

Check your safety switches, your starter may be locked out.

You can bypass to test........trigger on solenoid to battery.

I don't have your wiring diagram but I'm guessing it will be like many others, I believe there is a "combination switch" (brains/relay box) under the seat somewhere, with a dozen or so wires coming from it. The starter and the shut off solenoid will be controlled from there, disconnect the wiring connectors to it and re-seat them and see how you go. All the inputs form the safety switches from both levers/PTO/Seat switch/Park brake also go to it. Also check each wire is pushed onto the fuse connecters properly as they have a habit of vibrating loose, as well as the ones on the back of the key switch. Also if the ground wire from this "combination switch" is loose it will create similar problems, so if you can, follow the Black wire to a ground point and ensure it is tight.

I have an issue with the safety switches - I had been mowing for several hours and the engine started to cut out. It rapidly got worse and finally quit. It appears it is safety switch related. With key switch in on position The lights on the dash are off (all items in correct safety position), however I can "rock" in the seat and the dash lights briefly come on. I checked the seat safety switch and it appears to be working properly. Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting? Thanks in advance for your help.
