Hello, I am first time user and can use some help. 20 yr old ZD21 zero turn, 1100 hrs , snapped a right rear axel about 1.5" outside the casing. As best i can tell there is no other damage. I am considering making the repair myself - i have lots of exploded diagrams, but a bit nervous to tackle the job. Anyone know of a video or step by step instruction to walk me thru this? One of my biggest questions is - do you need to remove the entire (both halves front/rear) axle casing to do this work? or does the back half stay attached to the HST?? if it does stay attached, can the reassembly be done with everything in a as mounted vertical position? Have concerns that is won't get everything together if gravity is not helping?? Any help is much appreciated. Machine in pretty good shape otherwise - mowing mostly flat - no issues yet with the hydro. Happy to receive input like " take it to a shop, you are over your head" or other sage advice. Thx.
