Hello all, I've got an older ZD21 with a new problem. Late last season the mower would fire up then die if I didn't open the throttle about 3/4 up. It was less than ideal but it worked until today. Now it won't stay running even if I open the throttle wide open at startup. If I start it then quickly release the parking brake and it stays running. To complicate things, it now also dies when I set the parking brake. I'm 99% sure it's somehow electrical (relay?), not fuel related. Seems to me like something related to the parking brake is sending signal to kill the fuel. The fuel shutoff solenoid was broken when I purchased the mower last year so I replaced with a Chinese one. Any help is greatly appreciated.
