Have a z82 in an onan 5500 gen that seems to be running hot as it runs at a constant speed to produce 120 ac volts and never slows down. Of course, onan did not put any temp gauge or oil pressure gauge on the unit. You don't know it is hot until it shuts down. While it does have a small radiator, it has NO radiator fan but the fan on the generator is designed to pull in fresh air, blow it over the gen, then the engine and out the radiator. i looked at installing an electric radiator fan that could be turned on when the temp reached a certain degree by placing a temp sensor in the coolant but have been unable to locate any location. Kubota says they don't know and onan says their products cannot be added to or have items removed, so both were of little to no help. It was suggested to cut the top radiator hose and install an inline unit but that hose has so many turns that is not an option. The existing coolant sender is in such a tight location, don't believe it can be T eed off. Any ideas????? Thanks
